I have two examples of this. First, Fiona Apple opening for Coldplay while touring Extraordinary Machine. I initially wasn't going to go, as tickets were pricy and I knew she'd only be playing for 45 minutes. But then my local record store, Homer's, ran a contest for free tickets *and* a meet-and-greet, which I

Oh, I love Zoo. The whole Frozen EP is fabulous.

Upvoted for Secret Sisters and George Michael. It's a shame that I no longer have my cardboard stand up of George and his guitar from the Faith video (a bonus for being friends with the owner of a record store).

Oh, man. Lovely Day is just a perfect song.

It's Getting Boring By the Sea kept popping up regularly on my iPod thanks to the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, so I just ended up picking up three of their CDs this month. So good.

That's good news!

Oooh, that's a great idea. I'm hopeful that they'll put out a DVD of her recent live show, because I was heartbroken to not have the chance to see her perform The Ninth Wave. *sigh*

I have that Mojo compilation it's on! They are pretty amazing. I saw them open for Rasputina a few years ago, and they were heavenly.

I love Tori's version of Raining Blood. That was an odd album, and my favorite songs ended up being the ones where I wasn't super familiar with the original (see also Heart of Gold).

Smoke Fairies – Sunshine
Bjork – Cover Me
SPC ECO – Don’t Need Fear
Mono – A Quiet Place (Together We Go)
New Order – Ceremony
Dave Brubeck – Tangerine [Live]
Tori Amos – Seaside [iTunes Session]
Ben Folds Five – On Being Frank
Kate Bush – Under the Ivy
Peggy Lee – Love Me or Leave Me
Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs – Murder In

Oh, it totally was. We usually went there anytime we visited my grandparents, and I loooooooooooooved it. I mean, the food (aside from the sopapillas) was not great, but you don't go there for the food. I've revisited it several times as an adult, and it's still a lot of fun.

Pretty decent list; I would make a few swaps, but that's natural with someone with such an extensive career. However, to read that you're starting with her "best" Song then scroll down and see Ray of Light… I just don't get people's love of that song. She's so flat on the chorus, it makes my skin crawl.

Yeah, the first one had good songs that just didn't flow together, but that streak on the second was so good I had to share.

The main thing I remember is that I saw it in the theater, and some asshat brought his children (around 8 and 10). That was in no way a kid appropriate movie.

Thanks!

Yeah, Black Grape!

Upvoted for pretty much everything, but especially This Corrosion, Wild One, and Fashion.
