One of my favorite novels and I think the adaptation is wonderful so far. Casting was perfect. Wednesday, Shadow, Bilquis, Low-Key, Mad Sweeney. All perfect.

I was just about to point this out! I always thought he was a Styracosaurus.

Thanks for answering my question Dezbot!

I found this review to be pretty spot on. This episode was pure torture porn. I actually wasn't shocked by Glenn's death at all. There have been rumors for months now that there was going to be more than one victim (I understand that some/many were able to avoid rumors, but still it was a poorly kept secret). As soon

Your visit to the crypt sounds like an amazing experience! And you're totally right about the horrible luck thing. That is actually why I felt so comfortable visiting that archaeological site on my own. I had visited lots of places like that and the people are just friendly and kind. 99.9% of the time it is fine.

I understand completely. And it is a sad truth that most all women have experiences like yours and mine all over. Different places, different circumstances, different situations.

Certainly, if you look at only a single example.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience in Italy; I have as well. But for every example of sexism you find in Italy, you can find something similar in the USA. I teach at a university in the USA and my students constantly call me "Miss" or "Ms." or use my first name (sometimes even after I correct them). I had one

Thank you! That comment in the review made me very frustrated. Not only is it unfair, but it is illustrative of the things about the American coverage of the murder trial that fueled Italy's anger and frustration: the American belief that it is better than Italy, that the justice system in Italy is primitive and

It sucks that this season is so boring and tiring thus far. There is nothing to surprise us: we know the characters survive and all the ghosts are going to do "shocking" things (a dead, burning pig! random, crazy ghost nurse shoots a ghost patient!) and chase them until they move out and nothing really is going to

I have wondered about this. When I've seen "mockumentary" used for a non-satirical faux-documentary, as you term it, I've always assumed it derived from the term "mock-up" not the verb "to mock." But googling it I found that I was indeed wrong. Cheers for setting the record straight!

Good point!
It could be mock like a mock-up rather than the verb "to mock", perhaps?

I love the Outer Banks; friends and I used to go camping there all the time (I'm a Tar Heel and have family in Charlotte, Lenore, and Lexington). And I've visited Roanoke and if I recall correctly I doesn't look a much like the AHS setting at all. It's really a shame because the actual Carolina coast and Outer Banks

I'm not a big fan of the mockumentary framing, so I feel this season is going to get old quickly (for me at least).

Yeah that would have been a cool direction for the season! It also would help Murphey avoid all his issues with continuity and perhaps keep the show from venturing too far into the ludicrous (or at least limit it).

I do hope at least one of the three dudes ends up getting stuck through the eye socket with it!

i completely agree with you. The whole Victor/Lily thing is so messed up and disgusting. It had actually slipped my mind that he had killed her (even though she was technically on her deathbed). That was such a painful scene. And this whole thing of wanting to possess her and control her and turn her into a submissive

I completely agree with your assessment of Dorian. I would really like to see the show give him a more central role. And between him and Victor, I definitely want to see Victor punished. Dorian at least acknowledges that he is evil and corrupt, but Victor continues to see himself as a force of good. And you are spot

I really want to see Lily/Brona slaughter Victor and Dorian. Victor is particularly vile this season.

"A school wants to teach yoga or meditation in class or even something more overtly occult." The phrase "MORE overtly occult" does in fact mean that you are indicating you believe they are occult, just LESS overtly. I see no mention of ouija boards, tarot, or astrology in your original comment.
