I also used to get major side-eye for putting ketchup on my hot dogs! I also grew up in Chicagoland.

The essence of celery. Mixed with salt. I have no idea, except it's good on the rim of a Bloody Mary AND. a hot dog.

Well, as a Chicago native, I take umbrage at your sly dig against celery salt on hot dogs, but I agree, great pizza and hoagies can be difficult to find in the Midwest and West. Personally, I love New Haven style, but the best pizza I have ever had was at Apizza Scholl's in Portland, OR. It was a thing of beauty.

Uber, I am disappointed with your assessment. I know you hate Pittsburgh, but Italian hoagies from eastern PA (or South Jersey) ARE special and they are really, really, really hard to find past the PA/OH border. My parents are born and bred Philly, and all my family is back there, and when they talk about a hoagie, it

What's the sub shop? I'm in the North Bay, but often visit SF.

Nope. Not the same. A hoagie from Philly is a special delight made with delicious Italian cured meats, prov, shredded lettuce, onion and vinegar and oil (oh, theres's a dried herb blend, too). Subs in CA are a different beast. The only time I've found anything close was at a tiny market in Occidental, CA.

Hoagies are a gift from God. They are virtually impossible to find in California, where I live, and it makes me very sad. I always eat at least 2 or 3 hoagies when I visit my family in PA. So no, you won't die. But a hoagie does have provolone cheese on it.

Right? Give me a Mission-style burrito or give me death!

I think if I had to do it over, I'd definitely choose Robin Hood: Prince of Theives themed.

I wear the Juno from Moving Comfort. It is a bear to get off.

Look, I get it. It's just... I sweat so fucking much in the boob area that this seems really impractical. My sports bras are soaked through when I come back from a run. And I live in a dry climate. This would ruin anything I put in there.

Pshaw. You just haven't had the right one. It's not all Sutter Home white zin swill.

Despite our earthquake the other day, I'm happy to report that my local Whole Foods still has plenty of $11.99 Rosé left on the shelves. At least we can keep the party going in California wine country.

Haters to the left, y'all! KK is bringing it.

I will tell you that I worked at the mall with Old Navy. ;) For many years.

Ukiah, oh that brings the lulz. My mom works in Ukiah, and she always has the best customer service stories. Wads and wads of hundreds, reeking of weed, to pay yearly car insurance policies.

I was having a crummy day, and then I read this post. Pure perfection! Thanks, Lindy!

My husband needed a kidney, and his cousin, who was a blood match, was barred from the donor process because he is gay. A willing, living donor denied, just because of his sexual orientation. It was completely fucked up. Thankfully, we found another donor and my husband is thriving with his new kidney, but his

Well, I did find myself in a debate over the benefits of the iPhone 5s vs 5c last fall. With a few of my 6th grade students. :|

I was watching KTVU last night and people were even leaving flowers outside of the Mrs. Doubtfire house and his old house in the city, too. I'm all for public mourning, he was a great talent and brought joy to so many, not to mention his philanthropic efforts to help the homeless, but this just feels uncomfortable to
