I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. I breastfed my kids over 20 years ago, and never had these issues. What in the fuck is going on that women have to hide themselves in bathrooms to feed their children, and why are breastfeeding women accepting this as status quo?

That is correct, but as you pointed out you rectify those situations as quickly as possible.

Who gives a shit if the baby can wait? The mom has a legally protected right to feed her baby whenever and wherever she wants (short of another person’s home, I believe). The mom shouldn’t even have to give an excuse.

Actually, from me you’re getting “dadsplaining” and “husbandsplaining.”

The first time I went to Juvenile and Domestic Relations court, the bailiff didn't want to let me in because my mom wasn't there. I was the arresting officer...

I think it is a mistake, tactically, to focus on the baby’s need for food or comfort (I’m a cold bitch...). Simply put, it is the law that women are allowed to breastfeed in public. No further justification is needed, and providing one makes it seem like you are ceding the right to regulate your actions over to the

You asked why she couldn’t wait 10 minutes and received answers, and then complain that people are “momsplaining” at you? Charming.

That person 1) is not a parent but thinks babysitting makes her qualified to comment on other people’s children 2) let her niece wait for the bottle until she cried 3) thinks you can just put a baby on a shedule and plan your day around that. So I think we can safely ignore their advice about breastfeeding

Well it is just a shame you don’t want children because you would be the perfect mother, wouldn’t you?!

The baby may technically be able to wait, albeit while turning red crying, but the milk might not. Women can’t always control when the milk comes out, and a crying baby can trigger leakage. So telling a mom to wait to feed her infant until she gets to a fucking bathroom (seriously, would you want to eat in a public

You are not *down* with anything, especially not how “waiting” is painful for the mother and makes breastfeeding more difficult.

But why should a baby have to wait to eat when food is readily available in order to protect the comfort of adults? “Oh god I can’t see a baby eating! How inappropriate!” Really? I just feel a baby’s comfort comes before an adult’s. We are rational creatures. This should be a non-argument.

Well that sure came off as unnecessarily judgmental. So moms shouldn’t do any shopping where the kid might need to feed because it’s not really an emergency? I get that you say you’re pro breastfeeding, but from what you’re saying that doesn’t really seem so apparent. The kid might not starve, but the screaming would

The question is why SHOULD they wait? To make YOU comfortable? Yeah my baby’s hunger actually is more important then your squeamishness.

wooow...I don’t have kids yet but you may have just described my future. Last week the comcast guy wouldn’t cross my threshold because they’re “not allowed to be in the house alone with anyone under the age of 16". I’m 27 smh

I understand this baby is not an infant, but often infants aren’t on a feeding schedule. My 6 week old, for example, sometimes randomly wants to eat every 20 minutes all GD afternoon. I don’t think it’s appropriate to say that that trip to the mall wasn’t an emergency. When you are caring for a baby all day, sometimes

Babies haven’t mastered waiting. That is why they cry with increasing volume. And a crying baby is not only annoying for everyone to listen to, including the mom, but crying babies make breast milk flow so you will have a mom with a screaming baby and wet shirt! She should and legally can breatfeed wherever she wants.

If you wait, sometimes even ten minutes, you get mastitis. Mastitis fucking sucks. Also when you have a kid their crying triggers engorgement and milk flow- which hurts if there’s not a tiny hot mouth getting the milk out. Also it hurts a mother’s soul and is extremely distressing. Nature!

I’d rather see a woman nursing (including possible seeing OMGSH! her nipple!) than hear a crying baby. Why is this STILL going on?
