@SmilingPolitely: @trunkenmath: @SmilingPolitely: Yes, PC gaming for some franchises or companies is probably fine. I'm not sure what to say about Blizzard. Chances are they will continue to be champs though I could see them moving to a pay for battle.net model. Valve is probably good too.

This is the fundamental problem with the era of closed publisher or console maker based multiplayer games. As soon as someone in the chain decides the game no longer deserves a life that's it. There is no value in your CoD, Halo, or any other game that has a value mostly based on multiplayer.

"What color was the hankerchief?"

Diablo: Ghost...

I've been bemoaning the focus on FPS titles this generation and it is nice to see HD remakes of the great PS2 franchies as well as new action adventure and platforming titles.

@yanipheonu: No I think this is a great business decision and the big N is certainly the masters of releasing old content so it is perfect for them.

Honestly do you all want to rebuy HD remakes of the good Wii games for a WiiHD? I certainly don't, but I'm sure that will be the content focus once a WiiHD comes out. And you know they will only do minor texture upgrades, the polygon counts won't change, so there will probably be an option to "smooth" the graphics

The game was more Ninja Gaiden than Metroid. Combat was all about doing the dodge move correctly, that was all that mattered. There really wasn't any exploration, it was about as linear as it could be without becoming like most of the levels of Final Fantasy XIII.

Dear Tim,

I played last year for free for a week during the 5-year anniversary offer. It did and didn't work.

@DrakeDatsun: Ah thanks for the clarification. As you probably surmised, I'm more or less done with FPS shooters, so I didn't know the groups responsible for the different versions. I just remember a lot of discussion over the IW exodus.

@Schnitzengiggles: Really? Is that just Live or you mean that you need Gold Live?

Does the success of Black Ops mean that the whole debate over Infinity Ward last year is moot? Can any old development group pick up a successful franchise and with the magic of marketing everyone will eat up the next game?

@The SmacK: Kinect Adventures was the only thing so far that had me interested.

Kinect will sell more yet they will have a much higher level of buyer remorse. Gamestop doesn't take returns for devices like Kinect does it?

I'm glad Kotaku and other sites that didn't have to go out waste money on this thing have done such a good job covering why it is a waste of time.

I have to say that this game is one example where game scores and sound bytes in game reviews have done the gaming community a great disservice; the game was written off by many people as a Zelda clone or God of War clone.

Troll topic...

So does anyone actually know somebody who didn't previously have a 360 that has gone out and bought a 360/Kinect system? I can't imagine that they were able to even get the thing setup and working or that if by some miracle it worked they were then satisfied with the current level of content.
