@kasplat: Seriously, there are not nearly enough AAA games that I want for fall 2010 considering how late into the current console cycle we are.

2011, why did it have to be 2011?

@Cloral: The 3DS puzzle will come into focus within the next month or so at the Tokyo Game Show.

I suspect that it is 2011 because it is listed as a pre-order without even the basic Gamestop guesstimate date they usually give for things they expect this year, but don't have a solid release.

@legendnthemaking: I can't imagine that it would support drop-in, drop-out and not support local co-op.

@syge: I'm not sure if you've actually looked at the materials for SWTOR lately, but many people think it is borrowing pretty heavily from WoW.

Was the Burning Crusade release date announced at Blizzcon or before? I guess we're all expecting Cataclysm to come out in November, but waiting until three weeks into October to find out is sort of annoying.

@dangertree: The great irony with the Kinect approach is that they are going after a market that needs simple. Kinect is not for the 360 hardcore.

@ParasiteX: I'm gonna have to agree. Even with the recap I can't see caring that much about the characters or story unless you had played through the first one.

@kasplat: I forgot to say that I do love Metroid Prime, but it is largely an exploration game and doesn't fall victim to the normal FPS problems.

Having just done a balloon ride in Kenya I have to wonder about the "drag landings" with a glass bottom. I assume it is actually plexiglass, but still it is probably prone to cracking or breaking. I also didn't see the normal holds and bench spots for drag landings in the photo. Maybe it is only for perfect days of

Third. Frankly, I'm more or less done with first person shooters. I don't know if I had my fill back on the PC or what, but I really don't care about the genre anymore. I didn't even finish the Modern Warfare 2 single-player, only made it through about 3 or 4 "levels" of Halo 3. Needless to say, the multiplayer bits

@Baboonski: Yep I think almost everyone agrees that they screwed up by doing a PSP game. It makes some sense for Japan, but not in Europe and the USA.

@MidnightMarvel: I would bet money that at some point Blizzard is going to charge for Battle.net to support SC2, D3, etc. If they don't then there will be something else that effectively gets extra money out of players.

I wonder how many people that buy these collector's editions have a spouse or significant other that they share a home with?

The big problem they have is simply fragmenting the audience for their titles. Now if they do change the formula so that you only pay a monthly fee for battle.net and can play WoW, SC2, D3, the new MMO, etc. for the same price then it will be a huge win for them and consumers.

@SCORP1367: You're already living with 720p on most "HD" games you play, so dealing with 480i or 480p on the good looking Wii games is acceptable for the great gameplay. Zelda looks fine, though it doesn't really improve on the GC version control-wise. The Metroids look fine, SMG is fine and so on. Extraction did as

@SCORP1367: Yes the Move has the most promising content I've seen so far, but not enough to get me to buy an Eye and two controller sets.

The lack of content is the biggest strike against MS and Sony this year. If you already have a Wii or pick one up you have a fairly large library of good games to choose from today.

Wake me up when they do Mortal Kombat vs. Disney. You know you want to see a fatality against Daisy Duck or Goofy.
