Consider that Andromeda takes place in a single star cluster instead of the whole galaxy like previous ME games.

Why shouldn’t they be commended?

They should be commended for being willing to fix the issue, but they should be chastised for shipping the product in the state they did. They should not have shipped the game with such dead-eyes.

About 20+ hours in, not hearing any unsually bad voice work. It feels about on par with DA:I and the previous Mass Effects. There’s an awkward line here and there (especially with random NPCs) but those games suffered the same.

I genuinely like female Ryder’s VA — mind you, I did a custom character and don’t have to

Ok, that’s too bad then. I am not gonna blast you for not being interested, nobody but you can change that. But seeing how high you put the original trilogy (ME1 specifically), in a pedestal, it’s weird that disjointed delivery is a concern. One only has to look at Shepard’s first meet with Ashley. Hindsight is a

Again, you’re basing this on what grounds? Main plot is solid, nothing extraordinary or new, but solid nonetheless. The main theme is building, and that’s what the game literally gave. What exactly do you mean by bad writing anyway? Do you mean the cheesy dialogue? The dialogue wheel? What do you mean by terrible

No, but being literate is a cure for bad voice acting. Why are you sitting around waiting for overpaid actors to recite their lines anyways?

You kind of remind me of Richard Dawkins in that I agree with what you’re saying, but I also think you’re being a huge dick about it.

Umm, I personally love the characters. I also think the voice work is great.

I love the people complaining about bad writing. its really easy to say. But everyone fails to outline specifically what is bad or lacking. “The writing is garbage”. Why? “Its just not good”. Why specifically? “You can tell, it just isn’t as good as the other games”. So basically all I am hearing in this situation is,

Excuse me, but fuck right off with that entitled crap, dude. They deserve considered criticism, and the reduced sales that come out of that, not being ‘savaged’. Personal harassment is never fucking justified—and certainly not as a response to a subpar entertainment product.

yikes, I see this opinion and it just shocks me. I think the vast majority of the voice acting is fantastic, and I think this was the best written of the series. I love being able to be a turns, snarky, sarcastic, and intellectual. Maybe that style isn’t for everyone... but I feel like if you don’t like the writing,

I’m not going to be that guy who calls everyone who dislikes this game a “hater”, because I feel like that shuts down discourse and anyone can see the game has legitimate flaws, but frankly I feel like a lot of this is still residual fury over ME3, and we can argue for days about whether or not that’s justified 5 god

People don’t read into the manufacturing process of their iPhone.

I really haven’t found this to be a issue. There have been a few bad lines, and a few badly acted lines, but that isn’t a constant thing. As for over all story wrighting, well.... it’s a BioWare game lol.

When was the last time you actually played one of the older Mass Effect games? Because I can tell you with 100% certainty having played ME2 right before Andromeda came out that the standards set for facial and character animations in that game are not very high standards, and in some cases are far worse. Still one of

That is more subjective. The animation issues for example were obvious even to people who like the game.

It really bothers me the way people get sucked into the meta-narrative of a games development.

The issues WERE overblown; the game itself is still solid despite its massive flaws. Blame the team for this being their [basically] first game.
