Don’t even think about sitting down for food unless you have an hour to spare. The stress isn’t worth the quality/price you’re paying. Add more time if you have more people in your party.

Years ago my then-wife and I were invited to a neighborhood New Year’s Eve party. It was last minute and it so happened that I was making a crockpot of ham and bean soup with the leftover bone from Christmas. That was the only thing I could think to bring and knew that the leftovers would just go in my freezer anyway.

Romance should be Sno-Caps. The darker/non-milk chocolate will pair better with the red wine.

I finally made the James Beard asparagus this past weekend. It’s my habit to modify, so I added pre-browned mushrooms but I also jazzed the sauce with a shot of brandy and some ground ginger (wish I had fresh). I’m not sure I’ll prepare it any other way when vegetarian friends are involved.

I love a dog with brown/deli mustard and dill relish.  Such a good combo!

I’m not sure I’d ever seen a car with an underbite before.  The Cavalier checks off a bingo spot I didn’t know I had.

Necessity is the mother of invention.  I suffered through too many amazing sandwiches to not make an adjustment.

I broil my bread slices for BLT to keep one side softer than the other. Soft sides go on the outside so my mouth doesn’t get all scraped up, toasted sides go inside to keep all the structure and juice intact.

I almost forgot about Arby’s Three-Pepper sauce.  That stuff is SO GOOD on their turkey slider.
