Lol, its hardly contempt. Many other companies put out half-baked stuff all the time, with hopes that feedback and data will improve them. Look at touchwiz or any other of those android alternative predictive typing systems. They were terrible at first, but showed that perhaps there is a better predictive method.…
I don't think you're wrong in how you feel. you are correct that it does nothing for the hungry/thirsty/sick etc... But it does further humanity as a whole. and maybe the Olympics to some degree as well.
