I would think that someone who thinks it's okay to imprison a person for being a dick on the internet would be smarter than to be a dick on the internet.

Since it's cheap as chips and I have some fond memories of the original (and Underground/Most Wanted), I got myself a copy.

Now relevant.

"...Noctis can use a lot of different weapons: small swords, big swords..."

I know, I just think it's humorous how you label the haters. As if you need the proper per-requesites for complaining about FFX.

Well, congratulations, PostwarPenance!

This guy didn't kill family sharing—Microsoft did. There's nothing to prevent them from allowing sharing of digital download games (or physical games that you choose to register on your account) while also allowing people to buy discs and keep them free of the extra DRM they were originally proposing. Microsoft just…

I think it's a fairly interesting test of Stand Your Ground (and therefore linked to gun control) and it's a racially-charged case (correctly or not). This isn't just another shooting. We all know that the media can overblow things, but let's not pretend that this case got this big for no reason.

The right to express one's self is a human right, which trumps private rules.

Home-wrecking is one thing, life-wrecking might be up next. With XCOM having been released on iPad and iPhone, I bet it won't be long before Firaxis move onto Civ V. That game was MADE for touch screen devices. And then... we'll never be free. At least for now we can leave the house to get away from the game.

The next expansion for Civ V comes out a week before my wedding.

What a great article. Sid is an amazing game designer and I really hope he continues to do what he does.

So you can get pissed at the earbuds included with the device and go out and spend $50 on a pair that fits.

Why are earbuds still being designed like this? I don't know of any human whose ears these will comfortably stay in.
When the hell are designers going to learn this isn't ergonomic or secure?

I think the 'binary view' the author is talking about is in regards to the fact that success = fun and failure = not fun. I think the author has a good point in posing the question, 'How can we make losing more fun?', and then introduces several games where success = fun and failure = fun as well.

Because, as we all know, video games are about exactly copying "harsh reality". That makes them so much fun!

That's a rather all-encompassing statement. Do you mean jokes and one-liners in this game are not funny, or that all jokes in the universe are not funny?

You do realize you're upset because you came to a gaming blog and read a blog entry about gaming, right?

As a gamer who grew up in the video-games-are-for-nerds era, I still appreciate it when mainstream media talks about games in any kind of positive light. There was a time where it wasn't so. It reminds me of how far the industry has come.

Just remember this, Jimmy Fallon - you'll have to pry my copy of Heroin Hero out of my COLD DEAD HANDS:
