That is all assuming the gun would ever be fired in combat in the first place. Then, assuming they somehow found themselves in combat at that short range the plane also only carries 182 rounds so it wouldn’t be terrible useful.

Because it’s true? And especially in the case of a boondoggle like the F-35 you see the massive waste and and fraud that the military industrial complex inflicts on the country.
3 more years to write the software that tells a little flap to open and close? The CEO at Lockheed should have to get kicked in the nuts every day that damn thing doesnt work.
Wait, so the entire function of the gun is dependent on that little flap opening while the plane is flying at 300 MPH? Then the maneuverability of the plane relies on that little flap closing while the play is going 300+ MPH? Am I the only one who sees that and sees record repair rates and massive gun jams as the…
I have wings. It's a piece of shit and it's going to get people (the wrong people) killed.
Except, the F35 joint strike fighter and it’s lack of testing is absolute a waste.
The F-35 is a worthless piece of crap and it has been oversold pretty much since day 1. If there were any point in it, I would look up the people from the AF and Lock/Mart claiming it would be a better fighter than the F-22. Yes, it would be laughable for them to say it today, but it was the Pravda talking point less…
No, the real point of the F-35 was to fill Lockheed’s coffers. That mission has long since been accomplished.
A yone with an actual clue about the history, development, the lies, incompetence and corruption that is the F-35 would mop the floor with you in a debate format. The simple fact is the F-35 cant do ANY of the things it was promised to be able to do 5 years ago and wont be ready to do any of them for at least 10 more…
Eisenhower warned us. He’d probably be labeled a “socialist” now.
F35 is supposed to be the lower-cost alternative ;)
“Is it as good as the F22? Nope”
Some pilots just fly the aircraft on approach as if they are the fly by wire servos. Watch a modern fighter land and you’ll see the very coarse control movements made by the computer to comply with the pilot’s requests. It all comes out OK in the end, it just looks like it shouldn’t. I personally don’t care for this…
Once you get a ‘feel’ for a particular plane, you can feel the moves it is making and respond with the right control input. That is one of the reasons I find PC flying sims so tough. There is no 'feel' to those things.
