"Is Mary's accent getting more exaggerated." Yes, as is everything else about Mary. She's become a rather tiresome bore. She is not the most interesting character in Downton but I bet she thinks she is.

She needs to be there for Daisy's sake, (yay, Daisy) but never be invited to sit at their dinner table again, I was surprised to see that the dinner participants didn't leave the table.

Don't know what happened to my reply to response????, but to reiterate it. I don't always agree with Holmes tactics but Kitty is the one who got caught out and Gregson is not seemingly going to give her a pass on it…but we'll see how it plays out next week.

I don't always agree with Sherlock's tactics but it was Kitty that got caught out and Gregson is not willing to give her a pass. But we shall see how it plays out next week.

I stand by that, lacking in judgement, got her fired.

I'm going to re read "The Illustrious Client" tonight to see if I can connect to it the way our reviewer has. Kinda doubt it.

It's time for Kitty to go back across the Pond. Even if she gets cleared from any misconduct charges, she's shown herself to be lacking in judgement and wouldn't her work Visa be set to expire anyway. Her actions would be good reasons not to renew it.

Convenient but pretty obvious early on.

Agreed.

Have to agree that the opening credits are extremely enticing. Wish the show would live up to them.

I believe tawdry was the whole point of this episode………….and everyone of our freak show members has blood on their hands, some have murdered more than once.

Robert is so oblivious, he seems to think Brooker is flirting with his dog, when it's his wife that has his interest.

Agree wholeheartedly with #1. Edith is anxious about her relationship with Marigold, her maternal urges are going to blow her cover, which was tissue thin in the first place. Can she ever win one?
#2. I would assume the book would have some sort of instructions to go along with it.
#3. It's time for Edith to smack Mary

I do think we may get this reveal by next week. Doesn't Rosamund know that Edith collected the baby from Switzerland? Or at least suspected it when Edith announced going to the continent for a few days.

Natalie Wood was so miscast as was Richard Breymer.

Steve Allen and Jack Paar were late '50's night time talk show hosts. So at 1958 it could be plausible.

++++likes for your last paragraph.

Dandy's non appearance this episode was a real plus for me. Peppers story would have been so distorted and lost otherwise…..and Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett are great foils for each other.

Thought it deserved a bit of a higher grade, if for no other reason than Pepper's story and the actor's portrayal. This episode for all the other usual gaffes had some warmth and emotionalism.

Episode: Stuff and nonsense……and Dandy isn't scary, merely annoying. Yawn.
