It’s not only him. I worked a day on that show and it was the brownest cast I’d ever been a part of. I was taken aback by how noticeable it was in contrast with other productions. It also ran like a well-oiled machine and everyone was treated well. Say what you will about the content, but it’s a rare thing to work on

Oh, that’s right. I did laugh at the zip line thing. I think that one works because his absurd perspective was channeled into some kind of delight for the character. The majority of the other sketches I saw in season 3 were missing any hint of joy or fun.

Agreed. I actually really liked the first two seasons (though the screaming could get...tiresome.) I watched two episodes of the new season and I don’t think I laughed once. On the surface, it’s similar to the older seasons in that each sketch heightens an unreasonable character’s ridiculous perspective, but they just

Fuck the entire concept of this smug awards show.

The fact that Puss in Boots was nominated and Mad God wasn’t is a goddamn crime. I wouldn’t be surprised if del Toro name checks Phil Tippett in his acceptance speech.

a) I adore him and this show. Really respect the shit out of him as an actor.

I mean, it’s just one beer hall putsch. We’re really overreacting and making him seem way more important than he really is. Let it slide.

If someone has already proven themselves to be a hate-spewing, rabble-rousing piece of shit, I don’t think we need to let them speak out of some absolutist adherence to the ideals

I’m coming here to say “Jack” by Coppola before I read the list. It should #1 on this list. What garbage that was.

Only just occurred to me that Cleese has famously taken most of his recent gigs due to the high cost of his numerous divorces, and one of his exes is the co-creator of the original series. That’s a twisted piece of irony.

I never thought that Polly added much....she was on the show because they were married IRL

I think he’s going to manage just fine without your respect.

He cashed in. Fuck it. After grinding it out as an actor, why not reap some of the rewards? Maybe his kids are in college. Maybe he wants a new house. Maybe he’s a working actor who is conditioned to think every job is going to be his last so he better shore

And purchasing something on a streaming service doesn’t mean you own it forever. Amazon completely erased Louie, even episodes (seasons?) I had purchased. It’s kind of nuts. I’ve done a 180 on physical media in the past year, since HBO decided to straight up *delete* original programming.

Oh man, he’s still gonna have the chair, isn’t he? That hadn’t occurred to me until just now.

Always felt fortunate any time I got to see Geezer and Iommi play live. I hold out hope that one of them will tour in some capacity, though Geezer has basically said he’s retired at this point too.

He has been some form of weird self-parody for 30+ years, but dammit he’s a legend. I think having to accept that he’s done touring, and probably performing altogether, will be what finally kills Oz. He loves it too much.

This action pretends that the nominations aren’t already hugely swayed by PR and popularity. Meh. Sounds like someone did a grass roots version of what everyone does on some level, and that kind of outsider angling for inclusion violates the sort of polite society rules that have been accepted as normal.

How is this not a Lonely Island video?

Somehow it’s been three years since Palpatine returned.

No.

But to be fair, I didn’t scrutinize it to carefully because the marketing ploys of candy companies is pretty far down on my list of things I have more than a passing interest in.
