I am a lifelong Star Wars fan, but I have never been able to get over how linguistically awkward the phrase When I left you I was but a learner.” is. Sometimes I really think George Lucas has never conversed with actual humans. Like...the word “student” exists. “Learner” is clumsy as shit.

Spacey’s made a life of keeping unfortunate beards close at hand.

Feel free to Google “Joe Rogan Bad Takes” if you want a summary of more of his bullshit.

Oh, thank Christ, I’d forgotten about that.

My money’s on Tucker. He’s already doing the work on the ground of putting their worst ideas into the minds of voters.

It’s hard to decide who, of our worst narcissistic givers of ill-informed bad takes, will be president in 20 years: Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, or this piece of shit.

How are the drummer’s spoons?

I wish this were being directed by Werner Herzog, some kind of batshit surrealist work. Something tells me Mattel would not sign off on that, though.

He is one of these sorts of men, you know? Mm? You know?

Burton wanted to “combine the setting of a classic, cheesy ‘60s beach movie with the gothic German Expressionist flair he’s known for.”

Shannon and McKay go way back, getting their start on improv stages in Chicago.

Fair. I can’t imagine showing up late to *that* set. After all the effort the massive crew had to put in. Such shit. It really is a miracle that film came together as well as it did. Without anyone dying.

She’s pretty clear that his response, running up to her to ask what she said (a common way to start a physical fight), was what made her feel unsafe.

Ah, dammit. I loved his work. Put him up there with Nick Cave in the pantheon of tortured, dark, and beautiful singer songwriters. I was really hoping to catch him live one day.

Ah, yeah I see that now. I got so excited about the When We Were Kings sentence, I kinda read the next one as an independent thought. Makes sense.

I came here to say they should have just done the whole season as one long Get Back parody and then I read this sentence:

The venues he choose to contest the 2020 election just get stranger and stranger...

I might be wrong about the music, but the way the blindfold was folded over his face definitely seemed like a nod to Amadeus to me.

Whole thing was an Amadeus reference, I thought, down to the music he was playing.

That film was my favorite adaptation of a book, a rare example of one that improves on the source material, until I saw No Country For Old Men. Though in that case, it was just beautiful and efficient in all the ways that the book was.
