The education system encourages perfection by emphasizing grades over learning. I am not talking about pays per stream/listen. I am talking about music licensing for use in television, film, and commercials. 

I am curious how individual artist payments have changed. “The industry” generally refers to the big companies. But I’d think that with more media outlets in which to license music, composers (ie, the musicians) are probably getting more money now than 30 years ago. Which is how it should be.
