Mounted archery is up there with the best possible combined olympic sports like ski jump biathlon and pole vault relay.

This is a good take except for that the part about which sports are good neglects to mention that gymnastics is overrated and archery rules.

“[The Saints/Falcons rivalry] is the lamest rivalry in sports.”

Since the obvious ones (Zach Lowe, Bill Barnwell, Zach Lowe, Shea Serrano, Zach Lowe, Katie Baker, and Zach Lowe) have been covered, here’s a plug for the We Found It On Netflix Instant series by Max Silvestri that ran in like 2012 or 2013 or both. Well there you go; if you’re looking for a joke/payoff right away it’s not going to capture you. I didn’t like it at first either; honestly I probably didn’t like it until I’d read 50 or so strips. Now it’s *by far* my favorite webcomic of all time and in Calvin and Hobbes territory, but it’s so character-driven that

If you’re willing to give it another try (and you may not be), read the Great Outdoor Fight arc, starting below. If you don’t like that...well I just don’t know.

Looking over this again, the only thing I’m actually confused about (and the only thing that might put me truly at odds with the overall consensus) is the idea that Bloom County is funny. Is it a generational thing? Or a thing where I didn’t read it when it was good?

That strip is fabulous...and not in the top 400 Achewoods.
