Just wanted to say nicely done to the person who came up with the “Dreaded Laremy” tag. I and my four garbage sons appreciated it a lot.

True story: I was talking to a guy next to me in a bar the other day and we managed to be talking about the different Spurs for like 40 seconds before we realized what was going on - I was talking about San Antonio, he was talking about Tottenham, but somehow it was close enough that we were agreeing and going along…
I feel like a manger’s answers to most questions would be things like “Guys I am really not a proper substitute for a crib” and “I’m not answering any questions until you tell me who all these strange dudes are and why they need to give expensive presents to this peasant baby”
HIS DANG CHAPTER TITLE IS THE WATCHER
Knicks?
He shows promise though - I’m looking forward to the ascent of Stan.
I was crying laughing as soon as I read that. What an amazing throwaway line.
The Iron Throne isn’t going to exist for anyone to sit on by the end of the series, but Sansa will hopefully be ruling in the North and it’d be dope to have Podrick around doing his thing.
Yeah, I’m really enjoying reading them. Seems like the “Spurs play the right way meaning technical excellence, Cardinals play the right way meaning moralizing smugness” is the winner, with a dash of “St. Louis is more obnoxious or at least more thought about than San Antonio” and “Gregg Popovich is so awesome that…
Michel Goulet once forced me against a wall and made me drink beer out of a really attractive woman’s shoe. He also buys me beer whenever I see him, and then tells me in his thick French Canadian accent to “come here, genius”...and if I get close enough to him he punches me in the head.
The Spurs are great, but I’m on board with “getting angry at a ruler for being a foot long” as even better than the old “rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for U.S. Steel”
this take is fire (and blood)
“The Spurs succeed because every player is unified in trying to play basketball the “right” way.”
0:58 to 1:03 is just silly. Like a supercharged version of the Spurs who delight in ripping out throats. Which, I suppose, is *one* of the ways to try to capture this Warriors team.
I manage to (for the most part) avoid politics and those who work in it, with carefully controlled exceptions involving close friends. I’m sure I wouldn’t like DC nearly as much if I weren’t able to have that be the case.
I think you mean both Kens Griffey.
Well I dislike Philly because I dislike Philly sports teams (Met fan) and have sad memories there, which isn’t really fair...it’s a perfectly fine city. Really what I want is to be able to go into a big city conveniently when I want to but not have to live there - NY and LA, among others, feel super inconvenient in…
And they are welcome to it! I would probably feel similarly to you had I stayed in New York rather than leaving at age 3...but New York is crowded, smells bad, and feels like everyone’s constantly trying to rip you off. It must take a sterner constitution than I have to spend much more than a long weekend there.
More power to you! I’m realizing that my anti-Phillyness is based on personal history and being a Mets/Giants fan, neither of which really ought to enter into this kind of thing.
In retrospect, I probably can’t separate Philly from some events in my personal life that I’m not going to go into. It’s a fine city - I was just surprised to see it quite that high.
