According to the article I read (on Newser), the kids were found crying and were taken to the security office, which would mean they were not in the mom’s view the entire time (or that she watched security officers walk off with her kids). Obviously both stories can’t be true. Either they were in her sight the entire

Narcissism is right. That’s the issue with weddings like this. People (usually brides, but sometimes grooms too) are so into the fact that it is their Big Day and that it is all about them, that they forget the fact that they are throwing a party for people. Because let’s face it, that’s what a wedding is. You are

I’m really bummed out that I can’t find my wedding video right now. Ours was not professionally done - I just asked my cousin to bring her video camera and film the ceremony, the first dances, and whatever else she felt like filming. (She is not a videographer: she’s a mom who has a fancy video camera to take videos

Yeah, I support Planned Parenthood - they’re one of the few places I donate to - but I thought their response to this was tone-deaf. I understand that tissue donation takes place and I don’t have a problem with it, but I think the pro-life crowd has an issue with (a) the fact that it sounds like money is being made,

Seriously! I work full-time in one of those stupid open office environments, so I can’t make personal calls from my cubicle (or if I do, I have to sneak into a conference room, and then it’s obvious that I’m sneaking out to make a personal call). I have 4 year old twins and since I work full time I want to have time

I couldn’t find that story...but in looking for it, I did find this one, where the dad tells his side (with help from a firm he hired to aid him in telling his story) and where the dad provides photos and names of the previously unidentified kids. He also talks about how all the visits were supervised. My

She ranks right up there with the judge who refused to grant a restraining order to the woman whose husband was threatening to kill their son....and who actually did so a few days later.

At one point she said “have a healthy relationship.” As if it is entirely within a child’s control to orchestrate a healthy relationship with a parent. I’m pretty sure if takes two people to maintain a relationship at the least, let alone have a healthy one.

Seriously! How difficult is it for people to do a google search about wedding invitation etiquette? You don’t even have to own an Emily Post book. Just google it.

I was a stickler on etiquette and I’m fairly certain it’s considered just fine to write “and family” if you don’t know all the names.....though of course that is supposed to be on the inside envelope. Just the adult names go on the outer envelope.

I see your point on the pizza, but any caterer that won’t give you a break on a kids’ meal is an asshole. We had kids’ meals for the kids (I think the choice was chicken nuggets or mac and cheese) and while I don’t remember the pricing, I know it was a big break from the adult meals.

I didn’t know about these! Thanks for the tip. I use Abreva which doesn’t seem to do anything but I keep putting in on in hopes it will.

You can’t always see an active outbreak. I have been able to camouflage cold sores in the beginning and end stages of their lives. A full-blown one is pretty tough to hide, but the first day or two, I can usually conceal it with lipstick if necessary.

Do it again and you’ll get someone else. I’ve done it 3 times and been matched with someone different each time, none of whom I am especially close to or have much in common with.

I went to college in St. Louis and I agree the segregation runs deep. It’s the most racist place I’ve ever lived, at least from my perspective. I was shocked by the blatant racism I saw as a white person; I can’t imagine how bad it must be if you’re black, though I heard plenty of stories from friends.

You obviously aren’t my Facebook friend. The Soul Man references were fast and furious on my feed.

Only an armchair psych degree here, but now it’s starting to make sense to me. I think she felt so discriminated against at Howard that she really believes she knows what it’s like to face discrimination as an African-American - because she thinks that the discrimination she faced there is the same thing. I’m a white

I read a lot of comments the other day on the St. Louis American’s Facebook page. It’s an African-American weekly paper in St. Louis. I have to say, I was really surprised by all the African-Americans commenting there about how it was okay because she did so much good for the community - so it’s not just Gawker

It’s a little weird, but then again, she is claiming they abused her so I can see that they might want to get their version of the story out there so they don’t sound like monsters. And I think it’s working. I was inclined to believe she had been abused at first because she’s clearly such a mess that something must

According to Rachel she was raised in a teepee and had to hunt for food with a bow and arrow so I could be a little skeptical of any abuse claims (or anything else she says).
