Zemo going from a single black ops soldier whose family gave a very middle-class vibe to a baron with unlimited resources isn’t a retcon I particularly mind.

Sharon going from an obviously virtuous agent of SHIELD, whose close personal relationship with Peggy Carter was a huge influence on her upbringing and helped to

Movie Thanos was basically a Republican who thought he could fix problems with the absolute dumbest fucking ideas.

But he still let Richie Valens, Buddy Holly and the Big Boppa get on that plane before it was taken down by the Beatnik Werewolves? Fuck him.

Damn, this is enough Julia Louis-Dreyfus to charge you with Julia Louis-Dreyfus trafficking.

...You mean aside from the praise I gave the last two episodes of the show?

“I’m just a regular guy with no super serum. All I have are my wits and this $45 billion suit and this unbreakable shield and the power of flight and this drone filled with plot tech and my best friend that is a 100 year old super soldier.”

To start with the big positive, I really liked Sam’s character journey over the show and what he as a character represented. There is a sense of earnestness and ability to rise back up to the character that truly manages to make him an inspiring character for me. And as such, there is a sense of achievement in this

Oh no! Raimi made a generic evil comic villain into a complex interesting character! How dare he!

Doc Ock’s real magic is in the visual, which I thought Raimi did a fine job with given the limits of live action in 2002. A strong contender for the best designed villain in comics.

Or Garret Dillahunt.

I really liked his Dawn of the Dead. There. Is said it. I’m petty sick of zombies, but I might give this a shot. This “shot” will probably consist of my husband selecting it having no idea what it is and me wandering into the room and saying “oh yeah, that, sure, let’s watch it.”

Barsanti makes up for lack of acuity with an abundance of low-brow snark.

“You’re the zombie king? Well I didn’t zombie vote for you.”

Counter-proposal: Zack Snyder has to keep recutting it every year but he has to do it in ways that Lars von Trier had concocted to make him miserable.

Hello, I have several dozen questions!

1. Were the zombies always this smart or did they evolve to that point? Related question, if they’re smart enough to stay in Las Vegas because they’ll be killed if they leave, why haven’t we just killed them slowly but surely by pumping that GIANT CROWD with bullets every day or

All of that stuff is true, but at the same time, it's worth noting that those old GI Joe comics are excellent examples of "good things coming from bad sources." Maybe - and I'm not optimistic, but you gotta dream - they'll find some inspiration from those stories.

Write what you know. This person at least seems to be growing in self awareness (ie, knowing himself), contra 98% of people on the internet, who sate their appetites writing screeds about ‘you/those people’ that they don't know and probably never will.

I rewatched episode 2 last night (because I didn’t really like it at first & wanted to see if I was right or if it was better than I remembered). It’s better insofar as any TV show’s rough edges get smoothed out after multiple rewatches. The scene where we - as audience - are supposed to get what The Flag Smashers are

After 4 episodes, what, exactly, are the Flag-Smashers trying to achieve again?
