At this point, after watching all of True Detective Season 2, it is redundant to describe Vince Vaughn as 'miscast'. The casting mistake is clearly implied by the 'vince' followed by 'vaughn'.

Yeah, it was really gratifying to see Dourif get to tackle a role as fundamentally decent as Doc Cochran, after so much type-casting. And he nailed it.
