You know, we’re all thinking about this wrong. This is an opportunity. We could make the Han/Greedo scene the next ‘steamed hams’ phenomenon on youtube! Hell, George and Disney have done half the work for us already!

To be maximally charitable to Bradbury, it would be closer to say that he had a pretty big case of Bill Watterson Disease. Named after the creator of Calvin and Hobbes, it’s the condition where as you age, newfangled storytelling is bad because it’s newfangled, and because it might push out or supplant the older,

Internet debate for the day: which of these author/work pairings best supports the Death of the Author Theory, or, if you’re not into literary criticism, best supports the contention that sometimes, a creator can just completely not understand his own creation?

We need to put aside all our bickering and celebrate Life Day.

Yeah what kind of revisionist shit is this?  Han shot first for like 20 years and then Lucas changed it and started the entire argument.

As a former executive chef and now a writer I respectfully call BS on this. While I personally don’t use the term “badass” in my reviews I have and do use the term when referring to both male and female chefs, male and female athletes, etc. It doesn’t come from a place of whiteness or maledom, it is just a term. There

When director George Lucas released his specialized edition of the original trilogy, he edited the scene to make it clear that it was Greedo who fired the first shot. The change settled an ongoing and highly-exhaustive debate

“The change settled an ongoing and highly-exhaustive debate”

Yeah that’s more of a mess, douchebag, or like bro. Badass is sorta equal to Enfant Terrible in that messy, but rule breaking sorta genius creative thing. A mild warning they might be a bit of an asshole too.

About as cliched as a tattooed chef holding a knife in PR photos.

Yeah, that’s not at all how I’ve ever heard the word used either. My mom had to have an emergency D & C with no anesthetic after she had my sister. That was pretty badass. Me downing an entire half gallon of vodka in one weekend is not bad ass. Nor do I know anyone who would describe it as such.

I spent the morning sitting in an ER waiting room (fortunately everything’s fine now), and there was a TV playing CNBC right above me. Everybody kept going back to Warren and (to a lesser extent) Sanders and the “War on Wealth.”

SERIOUSLY. My mental health has absolutely cratered since Nov 8 2016, and I am sick and tired of being so exhausted and stressed and angry all the time. Good leaders ARE angry when their ____ (country, business, etc.) has been run into the group and possibly irreversibly damaged by an utter moron.

I have no interest in any candidate who isn’t anything less than absolutely furious. We’re past respectful disagreement, that exit was a good 450 miles back.

When I saw the article I thought to myself, “Damn right she’s angry and she’s not the only one.”

So we're just gonna pretend like Return Of The Living Dead 3 never happened? Because that was the first zom-rom-com.

Bigotry with a hug is still bigotry.

Ellen, GWB tried to put an anti-LGBT amendment in the Constitution because he was antsy about not getting a second term and needed to fire up the base. As in, he literally believed you and your wife weren’t entitled to the rights he has, which laid the foundation for Trump to win now.

After watching it this weekend I can’t really see how somebody could tie the Joker’s mental health with incel’s and neckbeard guys on 4chan. I don’t even think we watched the same movie :/

I always tend to take comments made defensively with a grain of salt. People rarely think out what they want to say when they feel the need to defend themselves or their work on the spot if it getting pushback that may or may not be warranted.
