I’ve seen people claiming that the cop checking his phone was Officer Ruiz, but I haven’t seen that confirmed anywhere, and based on the photos I’ve seen of Ruiz it doesn’t look like him to me. I could certainly be mistaken, of course.

My suspicion is that he fully comprehended her point (well before she made it), but he doesn’t care, and his goal was to put on a show for the benefit of people who would not comprehend her point.
You could not be more right about Aliens. Thank you for saving me the trouble of saying it. :-)
I was positing Singer more as a kind of a step in-between Jackson/Raimi and Nolan, more comparable to the latter, but I seem to have failed to express any of that. :-)
Bryan Singer on X-Men was also a notable step in this trend.
Pine did ultimately prove that he was capable of playing a decent Kirk, he just waited until Wonder Woman to do it.
But sometimes it is interesting to examine an existing story through a different lens.
In my experience, most Americans also use the “ae” spelling. It’s far more aesthetically pleasing.
And I do not trust Elon Musk to comment meaningfully on the aesthetics of anything.
And I was just thinking about this episode last night, after reading a John Waters interview about his love for The Wizard of Oz, in which he talked about Margaret Hamilton’s long-term embrace of the WWW role.
I don’t understand why “stable demeanor/emotional state” would make you think “telling the truth,” under the circumstances; if anything, it would make me think, “practiced liar.”
Gonzo was a Dave Goelz character, not Frank Oz.
The difference being that, on the whole, The Waitresses still f’ing ruled.
You know, they mean that it’s bad to, like, be aware of things, I guess?
It is not a matter of whether you have kids or not. I am a childless 43 year old, and that doesn’t stop me from having a strong and lasting emotional response to the slaughter of children.
I thought about it immediately. Not everyone will make the same associations, but I think it’s a safe bet that this is an association a lot of people have made.
I am so tired of people misusing the phrase “lowest common denominator.”
“This woman was just SECONDS from giving birth, when suddenly vicious, malicious doctors forced her to PUSH the baby through her birth canal, aborting the pregnancy and leaving nothing but a bloody, screaming baby in its wake!”
I also place Part 2 at the top. By far the best visual style, fantastic editing that really builds effective tension, genuinely engaging characters, and Ginny’s confrontation with Jason in the shack is easily the best scene in the entire franchise.
And I also have a lot of fondness for Part 3. It’s one of the most…
“Alucard” traces back at least as far as 1943's Son of Dracula.
They’re probably grifting on behalf of foreign kids. Disrespecting America’s grifting heritage.
