I know! they could have stayed with the same level of detail from the games, upped the lighting, and then had the benefit of less render time but nope had to make work to justify the cost I guess.

well, or you know, the gigantically wide open anime eyes. I agree that too many things are considered default that shouldn’t be - male, white, western cultural values, but the fact anime stole style points from Disney back in the day skewed the end results.

that video was good for explaining their intent, but the idea of zooming in on people and making quick edits like that is headache, and rage inducing

the problem is then that the Logan movie and other mutant titles didn’t reflect any MCU aspects nor did the MCU reflect any mutant events so thats gotta be a multiverse 2029

thats one of the big things about the trailer.  when I first saw it I was sure it was destined to fail by not having it use one of those old film filters to make it look grainy.  go ahead and have it in color but at least wash it out!  when I saw it though I enjoyed its over saturated color.  I still think HD and HDR…

I defend its look and the crew’s competance when it comes to shooting the movie but I didn’t have a single laugh while watching it either. meanwhile even though I have watched my fair share of Munsters TV re-runs I don’t remember laughing during any of those as well.

ya even with my tolerance for the movie due to its look, I was weirded out by that run length. had to fight fast forwarding after 1 hour.

ya he hams it up. reminds me of his Doctor Who days only more goofy if thats even a thing

the cinematographer worked wonders with the budget and Transylvania looks like a place I’d like to visit. the plot is so freaking light and airy its like cotton candy but with no flavor. I’d compare the film itself to a vapid fashion model except its more family.. friendly? uhm maybe just unoffensive? non existent…
