Its honestly one of those bad faith arguments that seem to plague this game. Saying that the game has no color visually even at the end point is just a false statement. Not to mention all of.the other areas that have visual flair like Dhalmekia, the forest of Sanbreque, the mother crystal dungeons.

Its weird to say the story is "Humorless". Is it just because there isn't exaggerated anime humor?

If you get to the halfway point and don't think this a proper FF title I don't know what you played.

The demo was widely praised so I don't even know what you're talking about.

I think what needs to happen is people not considering character action games not rpgs. When several fall into both categories. They aren't mutually exclusive.

The combat opens up even more after getting your third Eikon. I would also recommend new game plus or the harder hunts to showcase the game's combat having strategy to its enocunters.

If you get to mid portion of the game and are still asking how FF this game is then I don't know what to tell you. Thematically this game is as Final Fantasy as it gets.

Cid’s group in general are filled with fun endearing characters.

FF has rarely done that though. That never been FF’s deal

It doesn't even play like a DMC game outside of a few superficial similarities.

I thinknfor some people the game is never going to justify its M rating. I didn’t think there was anything there that felt it was being overly edgy or dark. It’s a war so yeah characters are going to die brutally and say “Fuck” when two Gods are fighting above them.

Custom controls should be mandatory. Ended up using type c because hitting magic with triangle was not doing it for me.

It honestly feels like a spiritual Tactis game.

Have you not seen the screenshots from this game? It has plenty of color and horizons

They did say the hunting board moggle is "a self conceited piece of shit"

Praise Beebo

You guys are being explicitly obtuse about this game at this point.

You've never played any rpg I take it

Dont even try to use reason.

I like how none of the previews have said the story is confusing. Most JRPGs have this function. Yakuza Ishin had something similar. Something like this is helpful for a story with tons of characters and kingdom names.
