Is the Wellness Retreat in the story above the same one the RHOC ladies stayed at. I NEED TO KNOW.
Is the Wellness Retreat in the story above the same one the RHOC ladies stayed at. I NEED TO KNOW.
When I was about 14 I went down to San Antonio with my family and a buddy of mine. We were staying at a hotel that was right next to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Since we were staying at the hotel they gave us free tickets and early access to the park, which was awesome. So me and my buddy go in and we are basically the…
This will probably be almost totally lost in the greys, but maybe that’s okay...
This time of year always reminds me of an incident that happened with the neighborhood children years ago. In our neighborhood there was a family that mostly kept to themselves. They had a handicapped son that stayed home and would probably now be recognized as being on the autism spectrum. But long ago, people…
In my early twenties, I had a job in the national security bureaucracy where we dealt with a bunch of classified stuff, which meant that there was no ability to work remotely. For the year+ that I did the job, I generally got to the office early in the morning and left around midnight, six or seven days a week. It was…
My husband worked maintenance for a company that rented out apartments and houses, and and about 3 years ago he was due to do work on a house that the company had just acquired. He’d seen it on his own already (well, with people from the company),but he told me it was the creepiest place he’d ever seen. I wanted to…
I wasn’t brought up to fear the dead, or ghosts. I played in the cemetery one house away. My Grandfather’s protective spirit opened bedroom doors nightly at Grandma’s house, checking on us as we fell asleep and then the sound of heavy men’s dress shoes made their way to the next room.
This actually happened to me last night. It’s a quick story, but it really creeped me out, so I felt like I had to share.
I wanted to submit this last year after reading this thread for a few years but missed the deadline. This happened to me years ago with my now-husband. He and I had been living in NYC for several years while he completed his graduate program. We had relocated from Seattle originally years before, and the move had…
In the summer of 2008, my now husband Adam and I got engaged. Our relationship had been a bit of a whirlwind and in the week following our engagement, we went on a mini break with his extended family, who had come over from the States to the UK to stay in a big Air BnB type property; a period farmhouse in the…
This took place three years ago when my now-6 year old daughter was turning 3, and made her famous (infamous?) at my hair salon.
I think I’m too late for anyone to even read this, but after years of LOVING this feature I want to share my (only) story.
This is not a supernatural story and it does have a happy ending. (the other one posted here, my mom claims is supernatural).
In the late 1960s, my mom lived with her parents and three sisters in a ranch-style house in a middle-class neighborhood. Throughout the summer, the neighborhood had been plagued with a series of strange nocturnal incidents - dogs growled inexplicably, back gates were left open, outdoor items were moved around. A few…
I suffer from “night terrors”, so I’m kind of used to quasi-waking up and things ‘being in’ my room when they’re not supposed to - snakes and mice crawling out of walls, weird lights, the walls of my room opening into other dimensions, even people in my room. Those ‘people’ never ever talk to me - this is important.
I don’t think this is what Jezebel intended for the contest, as it’s not scary. I briefly told this story in the comments of one of the contest pages a few years ago. Frankly, I don’t think about it much, as although it’s not the supernatural element that got to me at the time, it was a frightening experience and…
Hi Frida,
Yaaas I wait for this all year. Ok, ok. Here’s my contribution this year.
Not nearly as scary as some of your absolutely horrifying stories, but here’s mine. I remember it vividly and get chills every time I think about it.
