To be fair, this is way more about ageism than sexism. They do this with all presidential candidates “of a certain age” because America has trouble grasping the fact that you can be over fifty and still well-enough to be president.

Dole and certainly Reagan (even more than Dole or McCain) had their age used against them during campaigns; The sexism charge in this case is baseless.
