Honestly, the biggest reason I think this suit might have some credibility is that suing Yale is akin to declaring war on the US. You don’t do it unless you have a really good shot at winning.

Good attorneys routinely bill for 1-1.5k an hour in NYC, the absolute best (partners in the best firms) go for higher than 2k and can approach 3k. It’s ludicrous.

NYC is not Montana. Top shelf defense attorney in NYC bills out for 2-3k an hour, top shelf defense attorney in Montana bills out for 500 max. That’s the critical difference the poster is referring to.
