It appears they stuck to straight fantasy genre in this list; I don’t recall Connie Willis writing anything that would fall under that category. They also didn’t mention Bujold’s arguably more popular Miles Vorkosigan books either.

Yeah, she’s a really good writer but everything else I’ve read by her was much more serious, even the stuff that takes place in the same “universe” as To Say Nothing of the Dog.

While not traditional fantasy (more Time Travel Comedy of Manners), I always feel compelled to recommend Connie Willis’ “To Say Nothing of the Dog”. It’s my favorite book of all time, yes, above Lord of the Rings.

She showed zero emotion when her brother died. There’s nothing for her to “win”.
