Countdown to hearing Ben Affleck’s voice come out of every Dunkin speaker...
Remote start. Living in the Chicago area without a garage means some really cold cars on a winter’s morning. Being able to start the car from inside the house and waiting for it to get nice and toasty has been an amazing luxury.
Love the Jeepster, I had the model on my bedroom wall as a kid. Yet another ‘90s Chrysler concept they should have put in production.
It’s something to do while charging. As long as it’s only available when the vehicle is in Park, I don’t see an issue with games or even video services.
I’m surprised it’s taken this long for Starbucks to add chargers. A lot of the current chargers are in Walmart and Target parking lots, so if there’s no coffee shop in the same parking lot (or inside the Target) your only option is to wander around a big box store.
I’ve been waiting for this one! I always cheered on Lyn St. James in IndyCar, it was just so cool for her to be out there. I didn’t realize she started racing so (relatively) late in her life.
What are the odds they tack a “classic” coupe name on the back, like Monte Carlo or Beretta?
I’m excited for the hybrid model, especially if it pulls the powertrain from the RAV-4 Prime. Take the engine out of Toyota’s second-fastest model, massaged by Mazda in a vaguely wagon-ish body? Sold!
When Honda straight up copies your interior design, you know you’re on to something good.
I’m not sure different lighting technologies should be paired (LEDs are brighter and faster than halogen), but different designs would be great.
Why not keep those batteries charged the whole way? Turning semis into cargo trams, with batteries for when they get off the main highway, eliminates the charging time problem.
A whole train? No thanks. An old-school Pullman car attached to the back of the Amtrak Empire Builder? Sure!
Your options in this segment will soon be one car fewer, with the Mitsubishi Mirage being among the most appealing.
This is one of the rare cars that will look better with a front plate, something to break up that flat expanse of plastic on the nose.
Eh, I don’t see why Ford would care. They might even get some sales of digital instrument clusters out of it. It’s an upgrade, not a fix for a glaringly stupid design/budget decision.
I feel like Isuzu had more sales when they gave up (though I think they were selling all rebadged GMs at that point).
Right. The name is taken in the US. Dakar is much easier to copyright.
3rd Gear: I’m glad to see Benz back in the company’s name, as that’s the oldest name in the biz.
I learned to drive in a Passat. 1994 (I think), green, VR6. That engine spoiled me for a while. Sad to see them go.
