It’s also a fantastic way to disenfranchise non white voters. I still can’t believe I have to wait until April to vote. It’s ridiculous that my choices will essentially be chosen for me by two of the whitest states that have very little effect nationally that I have zero reason to visit or live in. It’s as foreign to

Amazing how something as basic and fundamental to the law like allowing witnesses to testify at a trial is now fully politicized and a double standard. The WH and the GOP deny all evidence and witnesses, but the Dems supposedly presented a bad case full of evidence and witnesses. Amazing how something as basic and

Nothing says “a fair, honest and transparent process” like saying “witnesses? nah, we’re good.”

Now, what exactly was this hard work she did “for a fair, honest and transparent process”? It seems like she pretty much just went with whatever and pretended to be open to maybe do something in the future, but didn’t actually do shit.

It’s ok, I am in my 30s and I had to learn how to vote in person last year when I moved because I have always voted in Oregon where they got vote by mail the year I turned 18. I had no idea what I was doing and felt really stupid having to ask.

I obviously am a failure of the public school system because I had no concept of what a caucus entailed until reading this article. I’ve voted in CA and TX my whole life FWIW. This blows my mind. And I thought gerrymandering was our worst problem.

In addition to all of this, the process is awful for anxiety too, and I’d hazard that sheer loathing for this much interaction with one’s fellow Iowans is a big part of the turnout issue.

Caucasus are a fucking disaster every year. I don’t know how Republican ones go, but the Democratic ones are poorly organized, poorly run, take way too long, hot, crowded, inaccessible and deeply boring. It only happens every 4 or 8 years so the volunteers from the last two

I’ve never gotten into Animal Crossing, and I usually consider Nintendo’s special edition consoles garish, but this one is nicely done in my opinion.

From what I’ve heard, Washington has done away with their caucus this year, but I did it in 2016 for the first time and it was wild. Unlike any political experience I’ve ever had, not in a good way.

On the brightside, caucuses are largely fading away (2020 has roughly half as many caucus states as 2016 did); OTOH-- Iowa will be the last holdout

This convinced me. Caucusing is stupid, and should be abolished. Just let people vote. Have early voting. Take measures to ensure that the electorate is informed of when and how to vote, and what they’re voting for. It isn’t hard.

I really don’t understand why there isn’t a national primary day for all 50 states. Make it the 1st Tuesday in March. Later states like mine (PA) don’t really count because by the time our primary rolls around, we’re not getting the full choice like some of these states get. Only Sanders or Biden by April? No fucking

Look at those hideously uncomfortable steel folding chairs. Do they look senior-friendly to you? When I was young I could sit down in one of those chairs at dusk and debate politics until the crack of dawn. Now it’s an ordeal to sit 30 minutes in a chair like that, but the caucus lasts 3 hours! Caucuses are designed

It’d be great if they sold the joy-cons and dock separately. I don’t want a whole new Switch, but I’d definitely drop some money on those things.

There are fewer caucuses this year than ever before, which is a positive step forward. I get that caucuses are probably much cheaper than an actual primary, but they’re an artifact of the early days of “democracy.” A century or two ago, they at least kind of made logistical sense. Today, it’s just another way of

That’s a feature, not a bug.

Caucuses are terrible because, like the Internet, the loudest people get way too much attention.

I’m not saying that I’ll never achieve true happiness without this, but it’s possible.

Ahhhhhh.
