It sucks that the environments of the servers is completely different between the PC and the consoles. I’m on the PC and have been enjoying it because everyone for the most part is peaceful or just keeps to themselves or a small group.

They added in a push to talk for PC with the first patch, iirc.

I agree that the no human NPCs rule was a bad idea. It takes away a giant storytelling element. Even if there was no vast overarching story line, they would have provided some context and a way for players to “anchor” themselves in the game.

Thank you for this piece. Sometimes it’s hard to understand the scale of these disasters and that things never go back to normal. These are long-term events that don’t just disappear after the news moves onto the next event.

I think that it may be because there aren’t a lot of people on any one map (24 max) and that it doesn’t have any text-based chat system. I’d love to run around and help people who need it, but I have a hard time understanding people over a mic.

It’s just what people are used to. I’ve never really dealt with the cold in a proper way (the furthest north I’ve lived is Savannah, GA), so I tend to bundle up more than someone from like North Dakota.
