I like to imagine somewhere at tesla they have a web/graphic designer.

This must have some weird measurement going on, like maybe they’re including dealer add-ons like floormats or service plans as part of the markup?
Well said. He’s a total tool but it’s pretty negligent that almost zero “journalists” doing their “reporting” on this story bother to delve into the nature of the compensation package.
As someone who went to college for business, I can confirm that this is exactly how it works: When your product isn’t selling enough, you get rid of the people who sell it. The products that sell best are the ones that aren’t sold by anyone.
You are taking one company that simply manufactures vehicles and then licenses out the selling/maintenance activity to dealerships and comparing it to another company that controls its manufacture, sale and maintenance locations so kind of apples and oranges comparison.
That’s a great suggestion that I hadn’t thought of! Definitely gets bonus points for being unique
Make it a coupe and you’ve got my vote!
Especially since this dude is in AZ. If he’s in the Phx/Scottsdale area, 40% of the time he stops at a red light he’ll probably see someone with a Lexus/Vette and 20% of the time it’ll probably be one that’s a fancier one than the two suggested here.
Clearly you are not aware so let me inform you, the specific vette Bradley suggested is actually 1 of only 23 corvettes built in that trim and color combo on the third Tuesday of the month. If you buy that bad boy, all the other dad in the neighborhood will be throwing on their khaki shorts and freshest white New…
Based on the guys other cars, it seems like Tom and Bradley missed the mark by quite a large margin. Pretty sure by “style” he wasn’t thinking an American hot wheels and a garden variety Corvette trim and a 20 year old dodge just seem to miss the mark.
yeah the bed mounted battery pack seems kind of silly. “Now you’ve got the range to take the family on a road trip in your truck! Only catch is you no longer have the space to bring anything with you”
2009 was still the 4.2 and before they swapped to a supercharged 6 right?
My comments weren’t really meant to assess this specific settlement, more just the blanket description made about all settlements. When in doubt, it’s safe to assume Musk is up to no good, but I was just saying broadly that settling a case doesn’t mean you think you’re more likely to lose.
Yeah, but the same money could also get you into one of these that drives even better and has a TON of history and racing pedigree instead...
If that were true, why would any party ever accept a settlement if they knew the other side expected to lose?
You just described a base Wrangler or Bronco.
Damn those evil big tech companies and their **checks notes** expecting users to take accountability if they disregard instructions on how to use the product?
That’s exactly what this probably is. They can use a car as a “dealer demo” in most states and as long as they don’t put too many miles on it they can turn around and sell it as “new” inlcuding full new car warranty but usually at a nice discount, nothing nefarious
I wish more companies did like my old CTS coupe. You could push a button and the full screen pops up which is handy if you’re using nav or something, or at night if you dont want a giant bright screen, it could retract like 3/4 into the dash and just show a sliver with basic info.
Well assuming it maintains the ancient tradition of basically 4runner = “tacoma with an enclosed rear area” (or if you prefer, Tacoma = “4runner with a truck bed”)it is going to follow the 2024 tacoma in being a little bigger and little more pricey than its previous gen.
