Is it really worth it though? If the average 1 bedroom is 1,550, dude is saving like 700 bucks per month. But this isn’t factoring in any bus/uber/gas to and from airports, and the fact if a 1BR is 1,550, he could probably get a multi-bedroom apartment with roomates for like 1k a month.

And the fact that 90% of CEO comp is usually equity, so the company isn’t writing a check for the amount, it’s the shareholders accepting some tiny dilution of their share values in exchange for the CEO’s time.

Everyone is quick to break out the pitchforks and lanterns when a CEO does well and has a big payday as a result. But in reality if the CEO is triggering their incentives, that generally means they’re receiving a tiny fraction of the overall stakeholder value created during the period.

Or on the other hand, he got them to invest a crap ton of money into Twitter which he has swiftly driven into the ground, decimating the value of the Saudi investment. So is must secretly/accidently kinda woke and sticking it to the Saudis?

Except that’s really only a significant on-road benefit. When you get off road, the LC’s setup has basically zero benefit in terms of actual capability but maybe a little convenience/comfort benefit. So it’s more “different” than categorically “better”

Bolt EUV seems like basically the same size, after tax credits it’s probably cheaper and it has double the range so maybe go take one of those?

Isn’t the bolt EUV like a few thousand more but around double the range?

What off road features does the base LC have that a base Bronco/Jeep does not have that warrants comparing the tip top off road trims to the base LC?

Yeah the authors comparison seems silly, I don’t know what the heck he means with the quote below. I haven’t researched the LC in detail, but I’m pretty sure the Rubi and Sasquatch have the 57k LC pretty handily outclassed offroad

The same could be said for the Ford Broncojust adding the Sasquatch Package to the base Big Bend and you’re over $51,000.

Or on the flip side, they’re trying to sell as much as possible after the 100 year production delay the demand far outstrips supply so they want every unit possible to be a sale, not scrapped for crash testing.

Americans will use anything but the metric system

I think there’s something fishing going on with how they measure “markup” for this analysis because most of the cars on this list are readily available at or under MSRP on autotrader.

The Colorado government needs to make this a mandatory training for all the idiots moving from California/Texas to CO before they’re allowed to get a CO drivers license or register a car here.

The dealer might put some markup on the parts, but they’re not in control of the price they pay for the parts. How much of that 30K bill do you honestly think is dealer markup versus just low volume replacement batteries being very expensive from the supplier?

It’s not really that simple unless a manufacturer has planned ahead with their overall system architecture. This isn’t like just popping some new AA’s in your tv remote. Generally an EV is going to have complicated charging infrastructure tailored to the original cells. If your EV came with an __ kilowatt battery, you

Maybe not specifically car parts, but it’s not hard to google “things made with prison labor”
