Thank you! I thought exactly the same when I read this, did a quick face palm and then was relieved to see that you had saved me the work of having to give a basic science lessson.

Metal would be much, much better at screening out infrared waves, though, so you wouldn’t get as much radiative heating from the environment
Yes you literally can in basically any modern car.
I’m confused what your complaint is. In any modern car with bluetooth or an aux jack you can easily play an entire album in the artists order without interruption, the only real difference is with a smart phone you can have your entire music collection in your pocket at all times
In what universe was a V16 engine ever a “trend”?
For reference, google says an average city block is 1/8 x 1/16 mile so yeah 1/16 this is kind of silly. Unless you have a low power or AWD car, most of the “race” is probably a test of your tire traction more than the rest of the car.
Ah, Honda taking a vaunted 2-door nameplate and reviving it as an electrified modern version. This will definitely live up to all the hype and expectations and definitely won’t end up as a high price disappointment that falls short of its competition...
What’s with these dipshits thinking that legal ordinances are magic spells, and if you somehow figure out some creative wording you can cheat the spell?
AirBNB is the freaking worst with fees, extra charges and requirements.
If anything I bet the owner would prefer to do this if they knew the renter had accepted the insurance since getting a 35K check from an insurance company is more likely than some random renter having an extra 35K to pay up without a fight.
And if we take out the “intentional” low volume, most the remaining vehicles are ones that launched during the year so it’s not a real 3 quarters of data.
Kind of stupid how many of these “worst selling” cars are just ones that are either expected to be niche low volume cars, or ones that got introduced during the year so “year to date” isn’t a full 3 quarters. “lowest volume” perhaps but “worst selling” is misleading for a lot of these.
46k hired rate seems light. A quick look at Tesla’s website, “production associate” in Fremont is advertised at $23-31 per hour which would be 48K at the very bottom end. And this is a total entry level role where the requirements are basically “be at least 18 years old and able bodied”
I’ve honestly wondered about this before though. I’m not suggesting someone try it or looking to try it myself, but in theory if you turn off the car, get out and chug a bunch of booze, how is a court going to prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that you were drunk prior to your roadside beverage?
editing has really gone downhill on this site. I spent a good 45 seconds scrubbing that sentence thinking surely I missed a “not” or something since they didn’t share what the motive was.
Investigators believe that the co-pilot of Germanwings Flight 9525 intentionally crashed the flight in 2015, killing all 150 people onboard. Pilots occasionally commute on flights using the jump seats inside the cockpit. However, this recent incident might cause a shift in policy from carriers.
Colorado already includes vehicle weight as part of the equation to determine registration fees so this isn’t particularly novel, just tacking on an extra 30 bucks.
Plus campers have the added benefit of a nice place to hang out while you wait to charge. Pull off at the last charge station, plug in, whip up some lunch or take a nap in the back, then unplug and hit the road.
I’m no anti-vaxxer by any means, but comparing EV adoption to Covid vaccine 81%“adoption” isn’t a super meaningful comparison when a large portion of the population faced mandates that limited their ability to travel, go to restaurants or even remain employed if they didn’t “adopt” the covid vaccine.
$595 for a premium color seems pretty standard, if not cheap.
