I agree that in a logical world, sending more conventional weaponry would probably be the safer bet, but nukes would probably be a lose/lose situation.

I don't suppose this movie is going to involve a secret organization that intends to have anything similar to the Human Instrumentality Project.

I get what you're saying, but I can't help but feel that we need to have at least one giant robot movie that isn't a Baysplosion.

I have a Bodum similar to this and I lurrrrve it. I dunno nothin' bout no dang burr grinders and stuff but the coffee still tastes good. If I do end up getting a burr grinder, it'd probably just be a hand-cranked one, so I can make coffee even after the apocalypse sets.

I'd like to know how well the Surface handles playing media off of a USB stick. One of those little stubby USB drives stuffed with media on it would be pretty nice, provided it works, and it's dirt cheap.

I suspect that the lack of expandable storage is partly the result of how razor thin the margin is on this device. If you put expandable storage, no one would ever pay the extra $50 for the 32GB model, and if you only provide the microSD card slot on the larger model, you'd have two different cases as well as extra

Maybe I'm wrong here, but doesn't the Surface have a microSD card slot? This is what I've read on Microsoft's own site. I don't suppose that would make a humongous difference considering the other issues you may have with the Surface, but I think it's worth mentioning.

It's pretty hard to find a reason to care. I'd probably be much better off with a Focus ST, and if I wanted something significantly smaller, there's the Fiat.

You should have it painted in that svelte matte grey. Don't polish your computer, or let birds poop on it though.

Yeah when I saw it in person, it was pretty noticeably larger than the mini, but if this is an SUV, it's an SUV for halflings.

I think the Evoque is a pretty nice design, and all the while, it apparently still goes offroad like a Land Rover should, so I don't really see the problem. If I had to make one complaint at all, it would be that weird hood-like spoiler bit over the rear gate. Is it supposed to reduce drag or something?

And so life does imitate [crappy] software.

Yeah that kind of surprised me too, and the fact that Iron Man is total gadget porn makes it all the sweeter.

I love how the Morgan even bothers to have bars behind the seats. It's like a steampunk version of the T-Rex. That's the one I'd really love to try.

I was hoping it would be clear I was joking. I guess not.

I always thought the TNG movies were kind of lame, for the most part. They tried to hard to veer away from the series, but I think that was a major mistake, but then, movies are an easy cash grab, which was why they were even made at all. The one out of all of them that I would accept as a truly good movie was First

I will give Abrams that much. He made an exciting action movie that made everyone think about Star Trek again. I'd even say that he actually tells the story pretty decently. It's just too bad that just about everything is undone by how little sense it all makes.

I will give credit to one good thing that came out of this Star Trek: Michael Giacchino's score for the movie. I've gone on and on about all of the terrible flaws that get worse with time on this movie, but I can still greatly enjoy the soundtrack.

He's playing a reincarnation of Locke. True story.

Yeah, in this arena, the iPad would be the surer bet for me because they're all basically outside of impulse territory. $100 sounds like a big difference, but once you get over $300 to $400, it starts to matter a bit less. The Nexus 7 is basically the impulse buy I would probably not regret, even if little niggles are
