“I did a software upgrade and now I have shorter throws” is something that “tuners” will say in the year 2025

You’re right- here’s Foxx’s character.
I think that’s it, and I think the louvers automatically flop open when the lid is raised so that you can see out. They lay flat when the lid is closed.
My memory is fading, but didn’t Jamie Foxx play a Mike Tyson character on In Living Color?
If it is, I don’t get it. Roads where I live in NC are pretty decent and the traffic is relatively light too.
They didn’t sell the WRX stateside until 2003, so for me it would have been between the 2.5RS and the Si. My friend had the RS, and I didn’t like styling. The car looked like it was from the early 90s, and the interior was garbage.
Everyone who started smoking Newports because they got tired of handing out cigarettes to people bumming them are going to be pissssssssst.
The 02 Si was my first new car- it was barely faster than a stock EX Civic from that same era. To prove its UK pedigree, some dash light bulbs burnt out within the first three years. The FM antenna looked cool, so someone stole mine. When I went to replace it, the dealership said it was an Acura part and cost $50, but…
I’m with you on the PBS content- I love the educational lineup and I love how the shows are engaging yet somewhat calming. I find the Fly Guy art style obnoxious though.
I did drivers ed in that car- even though it was only a couple years old, it felt like it was just ancient.
As a kindergartener, I was bullied by the older kids on the bus but my parents thought it would “toughen me up.” I endured. Coming home on the last day of school, my mom met me at the bus stop to walk me home. She noticed that the bus driver had a twelve pack of beer sitting on the floor next to him. When she asked…
You guys know the drill- getting your drivers license is a big fucking deal for a teen. My drivers education class was taught by the high school gym teacher. This guy was a Vietnam vet who looked 30, but was actually in his fifties. He was absolutely ripped, or as we said back in the 1990s, “cock diesel.” Needless to…
My diesel Volvo 240was the slowest car I’ve ever driven. I still miss it some days.
Call me when the Volvo that’s for sale is a 262
Last time I owned a Corolla was from 2010 to 2016. I bought it new when Toyota was offering five years 0% financing because of the whole “runaway gas pedal” fiasco. It had leather interior and heated seats. I buy what I want, and I don’t have a problem admitting that I’m spoiled.
Really? My experience is the exact opposite. The automatic strippers I have do a perfect job on any delicate narrow gauge wires and mine are just ones I bought at Home Depot 15 years ago. The built-in crimping tool and cutters are substandard though.
Exactly. Most people in the USA just buy stuff because they want it, and that’s the hallmark of an overprivileged society.
I’d normally just blow past slow / yoyo drivers, but adaptive cruise control eliminates the stress that I didn’t even realize I was experiencing. Like, yes I’m slower when I use it, but I’m 100% in a better mood.
You beat me to it; it’s a robbery for sure.
20 years ago, I was part of the freelance scene in Chapel Hill, NC, and I contributed to a VC funded company called Zoom Culture. They “kind of” paid amateurs to submit, edit, and produce videos for the shows that they would try to sell to networks. They had a show called Hiphop Nation that might have been their only…
