I know the community loves to rag on the GOATS meta and I do look forward to seeing some more varied comps next stage, but it’s amazing to watch it at a high level of play, and this series was the perfect example of that. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and even though I was cheering for the Titans I

Ado finally got his win today...... I’m so happy for him.

They’ve managed to nearly bring it back quite a few times, yeah. I just love how strong they came out of the gate, and they never really slowed.

Shanghai looked insane out there tonight. You’d think their first win would be a struggle against a mediocre team but they dominated Boston for most of the match and looked so, so coordinated.

To be fair, Seoul Dynasty came out with some pretty out-there comps too. They came right out the gate with Fleta on Ashe and Jehong on Ana, of all things. The second day has been decent too - Hammond and Sombra are getting a lot of play, and there’s been bursts of DPS-heavy battles here and there.

NBA refs are so shit lol

Holy shit the fact that the custom cursor doesn’t actually map where you think it does (so clicking links is all screwy) is simultaneously the best and worst thing I have ever seen I love it.

Only playing one game a week will be a huge improvement... twice a week is just crazy considering they’re all playing in the same venue. More breaks is good.

As a cognitive neuroscience student, seconded! There’s some real research that’s shown that practice and study are done best at intervals, with breaks in between. Better to practice an hour every day of the week than seven hours in a single day. The bit about imagining is true too; neural pathways do strengthen when

^This. The gameplay isn’t perfect but it’s damn well nice, and while there is still a disconnect between the sex scenes and the actual mechanics, it’s one of the most fully realized that I’ve come across. TLS is the header, but if you want to check out Sierra Lee’s work I’d recommend Ouroboros - it’s a shorter game

I’ve seen a lot of comparisons of Aces to a traditional fighting game, and I have to agree - there’s meter management, quick reaction times, and split-second strategizing galore. I think it’s a lot more mechanically in-depth than previous Mario Tennis games, and has a higher skill ceiling and sharper difficulty curve

Yes, yes, yes. I love British panel shows that manage to mix news or trivia in with comedy. The Big Fat Quiz of the Year is great, I’ve lived in the US for my entire life and yet I still look forward to being quizzed annually on news headlines that may or may not be waaaay too localized to the UK.

Is there anything (game-related or otherwise) coming up in the future that ya’ll are unreasonably hype for?

I see a lot of comments about how matchmaking is completely screwed up or how the devs should have this completely fixed by now and... I mean, I’ve never ever seen a competitive game with a large and diverse playerbase where the players are happy with matchmaking. I think the problem has less to do with poor systems

Let Shanghai Win You Cowards

Okay, um, wow. If that is legit (which it seems like it is, but let’s not jump to conclusions), that’s a pretty shit deal. The code of conduct stuff seems a bit vague and overreaching at times, but honestly it’s probably just Blizzard’s attempt at keeping the league squeaky clean in an attempt to attract sponsors and

If there are a bunch of players swarming the lobby with posts about freeing this Craig, you could say they are... lobbying?

Fluidity was a really cute and clever game. Had lots of polish and felt like the sort of game you could only have with motion controls. Wasn’t perfect, but it was unique and well worth the purchase.

No love for Rivals of Aether? Ah well, I’m excited to see how this game plays out anyways, the world could always use more polished platform fighters.

Takashi Miike’s live action Ace Attorney movie should be on this list. It captures both the silly and serious aspects of the source games pretty well, and has decent acting and special effects that all work together to create something that respects the source material yet brings something new to the equation - the
