At that point you really want to be ignoring item level. Judge the quality soley on the stat’s rolled themselves and if they apply to the build you are running (or want to be running instead).
Using item level for 1-50 is fine but after that it’s time to start comparing more granularly. It continues to serve a purpose

It’s been over a month since release and your tip to “fast travel anywhere” is the system that’s introduced to the player inside of the first 5-10 hours of gameplay?

Talk about nonsense! It’s a videogame it doesn’t need to tick all the political checkmarks under the sun. You want to ship Sidon with Link? Go right ahead, hell Zelda’s ancestor Rauru is a furry! The game’s story is not going to stop you.

This just sounds like people are claiming that the Monster Hunter “desire sensor” is an in-built mechanic. People come up with all sorts of bizarre rituals for RNG, when almost always it’s just RNG working as intended.

and honestly, they shouldn’t be. These are build-changing and build-defining uniques. Some unique combos become “win the game” buttons. Ebay would be awash in D4 uniques.

I know you said this is the best sword you can get “on your first playthrough” but I feel like it would have been worth mentioning that there is, indeed, a much, much more powerful sword (almost twice as powerful) available only when playing on New Game + on the hardest difficulty. Fans of the series will be able to

It’s a very simple way to compare two pieces of gear at a glance to determine the better piece but strictly on a superficial level.

Item Power, it’s actually just right there in the screen shot.

I assume it is essential “item level”

Yeah, this feels unfinished or indecisive. Not remotely clever or intentional. Alternate line reads is like unrated cut dvd level of cleverness, not genius meta-humor.

As someone who’s accustomed to action games, I have to disagree with Digital Foundry’s take on graphics modes. We need that 60 FPS precision to accurately time dodge and parries, and to feel like you’re getting more skilled at the game.

There are more and more old timers like myself that want to expand outside of the same tried and true formulas. We have enough classic game remakes on the docket that stick close to the old formulas anyway.

This is a very healthy thing for Final Fantasy, which was a series which made itself on innovating and taking chances with each entry and set itself apart from competitors, especially in Japan. It will go full circle in time. SquareEnix hasn’t forgotten about ATB and Turn Based games. There’s a lot of nostalgia $$$

Then Final Fantasy might as well be Dragon Quest! I’m willing to bet that’s not what a majority of gamers would want, seeing as that series never got popular in the US/NA.

Have people soured on Final Fantasy VII: Remake’s combat?

Yes, getting a new Eikon feels like how getting a new party member or job felt in older FF games.

Have people soured on Final Fantasy VII: Remake’s combat? Because like, I am in the middle of replaying it, and I’d like more, please. Just finished the main game and am starting the Yuffie episode, and the Synergize and other minor quality of life fixes make me think that system has legs. Their upgrade system is...is

The diminished focus on items and loot is quite noticeable early on in the game. I’m a sucker for crafting systems, but this game will not scratch that itch.

I think every action game has waaaay too much RPG-ification going on these days. I love action-RPGs but not every action game needs that. It makes things like Assassin’s Creed or God of War a total slog to me when I’m constantly picking up dozens of different crafting materials and having to do the menu shuffle to

This is another example of why Reddit wouldn’t exist without its users which are actually its customers. Their CEO is completely clueless.
