I feel like you may have missed part of the point. It’s not just about “games that are primarily spent online” vs the opposite. Like the earlier example: even the offline single player RPG Kingdom Hearts III had an update that was inaccessible until the internet came in. Lots of games have even partially online

Same, same, same. I have it on both PC and PS4, and I was tempted to triple dip on Switch... I might have to if this update really never makes it elsewhere. :(

If you think the tutorial ends at the balloon stage, you’re massively mistaken. It has extensive matchup tutorials for every character to learn how to deal with almost any move in the game, and a bunch more guides to advanced mechanics and techniques and such.

Yes, but different. The other guy misspoke. The equivalent this time is actually Krushing Blows, which are sort of like Soul Calibur 6's Lethal Hits. Certain attacks have KB properties, and sometimes a specific kind of counter-hit is required, and other such variances. But yes, they’re there (aesthetically, at least).

Okay so I’ve been around and I’ve followed all these articles about the state of the game, and heard how frustrating the game has been. I also know my little brother preordered it and was having tons of fun.

two kinds of people LUL

I’ve heard it’ll be 5:30PM PST.

To clarify, jfyi, this is actually SF3 :) More accurately, it’s the third version of Street Fighter III, called 3rd Strike! Best SF game ever made, imho!

He’s got that face down pat.

Game development’s hard as s*, fam.

All good things! Color me excited at the prospect of these lofty promises!

See, that’s fine, but ALL things in moderation... Pokémon matches with Pokéballs on High is fun. All the sword characters with all the sword items is fun. All Donkey Kong and Bananas is fun. Everything on and everyone random characters on random stages is fun.

I, my elementary school friends, my middle school friends, the gaming club friends from my High School, and my Tourney pals all agree with you wholeheartedly. Different Nintendo party game, but let’s be honest: literally no one likes to get hit by the Blue Shell. Screw Random items in competitive games.

More power to ya. But I’m with Acolyte on this one. RNG’s a b*. Same reason I play Time trials in Mario Kart almost exclusively. It’s got fun, satisfying, tight mechanics for its genre and for me it is SO satisfying to Git Gud with it.

“the starcraft marine” lul. StarCraft II’s Tychus Findlay.

I’ve been right with mah man Mike Fahey on this Dragalia train since Day 1, and it is absolutely mind-blowing how generous they are. As a bit of a hyperbolic but also not entirely inaccurate example:

Am I the only one who thinks his Wall thing ult and his IMMORTALITY on E should be swapped?

Duuuuude, they had me going so bad. I could have sworn to you it was going to be Xenoblade X 2 — that art style is dang near close to it — but to see that it’s a PLATINUM GAME!?

Jaw dropped at this one! I love those first two games so much, and now it’s an ACTION game? HECK yeah!
