So, this is definitely a Gacha within Smash... right? Like this is DEFINITELY just a straight-up Gacha, 3-element triangle, star rank weaknesses, currency, grinding to level up things to level up other things, to equip onto other things... Man I freaking have been down this road so many times and now it’s in SMASH?

Bu-but... that’s... the *BEST* game on the Wii U... They hyped the crap out of it, and it was so awesome, and it would be a miracle to have on Switch, a console with an actual INSTALL base!

NO! STOP IT!

Wow, have you ever read something just... so, so wrong you didn’t know what to say?

BLOODY ROAR 2! BLOODY ROAR 2! BLOODY ROAR 2! *sigh* I can dream.

Man. Those are some big names. I can only imagine what anyone looking at it must think, seeing Cygames and Nintendo there. I feel like this game is going to surpass its fluffy generic JRPG gacha exterior due to branding alone.

Here’s where we stand:

Tim Rogers is the Professional Video Game Expert we need, but not the one we deserve. You’re a national treasure, and a dadgum hero. Never change.

Why, oh why, is seemingly everyone in every comments section about a Kingdom Hearts anything such a Heartless, pessimistic, cynical fun-sucking downer about the series?!

I don’t know what it is about this series, but for all its praise and accolades... I was just... so... bored. I don’t know what I was expecting... maybe like a Dragon Age: Origins type experience? I just... everything felt so slow, dragging, and padded.

This has got to be the most tropey, generic, stereotypical gacha game I have ever seen. I would bet this game’s entire plan succeeds on the basis of two things:

I wish the digital was on sale, too. I want it for $20 because I'm being arbitrarily stubborn. :p

I wish the digital was on sale, too. I want it for $20 because I'm being arbitrarily stubborn. :p

Right? Isn’t it just... Medieval, then?

Speedruns are so fetching awesome. I got my start with Cosmo and Ocarina years and years ago, and it’s glorious to see how much precedence and worth Speedrunning has acclaimed thanks to events like GDQ. Grats to the runners on all their progress!

You load a map with scripted dialog and scripted monster that follows a linear scripted path.

“Linear quests”...? You mean, the story mode that is seriously 1/10th of the overall game? This really isn’t a “story” based series at all, it’s primarily gameplay driven. World was given a “story” because the hardware was no longer limited for the kinds of cutscenes and dialogue they wanted to use. But really, the

Wtf is that supposed to mean? You say that like there is any such thing as a weapon-class that isn’t viable. Some of the best weapons in the game right now are the Lances, because of the Behemoth fight’s design around a team of Tank+Support+DPS.

Aside from just using a CRT, what is the most input-lag free way to do this sort of thing? The legacy games I’d be most interested in are platformers and fighting games, and I’m frustratingly sensitive to input-delay.

I assume this is under the assumption that you find Modern Military FPS to be ‘fun’ in the first place, right? The only game close to that description of recent times that I enjoyed was Titanfall 2, because Jetpacks+AttackOnTitan style Grappling hooks+physics+Freaking MECHS was actually super awesome. I wasn’t much

AAAHHH! My spirit animal has returned! I love you Mike! Your strength and willpower is an unprecedented and admirable quality that I can only hope to one day come close to matching.
