I don’t know why everyone harps on the Uncharted gunplay, it’s probably some of the best 3rd person gunplay out there.

oddly enough, the shooting in the latest tomb raider games, rise and shadow especially, is really good. not thematically essential, for sure, but actually quite slickly done. shadow also has absolutely incredible climbing sequences.

apologies in advance for this, but

Yeah and this article just went off the rails on it.

I get Korea’s issues with Japan but this seems a little unreasonable. It’s a symbol that doesn’t really look like anything, and a shrine that Japanese people still pay respect to. If they don’t like the content packs then they could just not buy them.

Yeah, it really sucks that Control is getting this kind of attention only because of 505.

Jezuz 505 seem like the worst publisher at this point. Because I can’t imagine Remedy would mess up their own experience like this. Either ship it on multiple discs, or leave the hi-res textures/assets for the download so at least there is a fully playable version available on the disc.

Very much incorrect. In most of the world the internet is still soft-capped, throttled, expenny, or just plain slow, etc. So being able to pop the disc in and get a majority of the content that needs downloading is very valuable to a lot of gamers.

It might be 505 being that cheap. They’re one of the few companies charging extra for the next gen upgrade with this ultimate edition shenanigans. I wouldn’t put it past them being too cheap to include a 2nd bluray or more expensive type disc in the first place.

Why didn't you ship two discs you cheap bastards

I don’t know for certain (I don’t have access to any documents saying only dual-layer discs are permitted), but it’s almost the only explanation that makes sense. Why wouldn’t 505 use a triple-layer disc or a dual-33GB-layer disc if Microsoft lets them? (Maybe MS does allow it, but 505 is that cheap?)

This is why I don’t like the idea of putting Xbone games and XSeX games on the same disc.

Oh I’m aware, it just sounds equally stupid jumping on an article specifically about a texture mod to announce to the world how you’re above it all and don’t care.

I’m not ‘obsessed’ with wearing my glasses, but I like to see the world around me in detail.

Here’s why: you can play the same great game as before, only now with more polished and prettier visuals. It’s a win-win situation, what’s not to like?

Cool story...

I mean if you’re playing it on your switch, you obviously wouldn’t get why people enjoy the better graphics. It’s a great game either way, but it’s exactly as Burnerxabillion said. Now we all got our moneys worth as well, but even more out of it.

You summed it up perfectly. Presentation and gameplay are not mutually exclusive. A superior presentation enhances the experience, it doesn’t replace it.

It’s not really an obsession but a preference. You’re not obsessed if you prefer watching a good movie on a large 4k tv with surround sound vs watching it on an old tube tv. It doesn’t stop the movie from being good, but one experience is still significantly better than the other.

One thing that I usually hate from texture mods is that often than not, they completely change the original texture to a different 4k texture. Which even though both textures are of the same material, they still look different and change the overall Art of the game.

So I’m very please to see that this mod doesn’t do
