I caught it and it turned into a Ditto. I suppose it’s a new way of encountering it instead of it randomly being another Pokémon that transforms when you catch it. 

I guess that new engine isn’t happening then. And here I thought that new engine could turn their diminishing game quality around.

With the Switch’s spray and pray approach to ports, I’d consider that much more likely than a remake. I’d buy it. I actually never played 2.
