A lot of the minimalist running techniques work fine for people in shoes and their advocates usually say so. The problem is that learning and maintaining the correct form is really difficult in giant-heeled cushioned shoes, so you want thinner, zero-drop shoes that give feedback.

Sanderson's a hardcore world builder. He keeps coming out with crazy new magic systems that are entirely different from anything I've seen before, and they do sound great for a game (or a virtual reality simulator...).

It's a great series with probably Sanderson's best heroine out of all his books (the others end up as damsel in distress types a bit too often, even if they're still well written), though I think his Stormlight Archives series (only the first of 10 planned books has been released) may end up surpassing it in overall

He's an immortal, nigh-omnipotent ruler who's considered God....so it's fairly fitting.

Usually, you can fill up at a water fountain after the security checkpoint, so this is just a little handier to store than a Nalgene or other hard bottle when it's empty. I think one of the Amazon highlighted reviews mentions this idea as well.

I think I misspoke, there aren't any more specialized hexes, only universal conditions, so Backfire's not in at the moment. Backfire's closest analog is the Confusion condition, which can stack in intensity and deals damage when the afflicted target uses any ability.

I believe that because of attack power and critical % being general rather than specifically magical or physical, you should be able to deal good damage when using conjured weapons, because your gear is still counting towards its bonus damage (as Alex mentions). You can also trait to specifically boost summoned weapon

There are other abilities to regain health, though the heal slot abilities are usually much more effective.

If I recall from my limited time in Guild Wars 1 (I only played the original) and info from the recent Beta, the original GW1 Mesmer tended to rely on hexes and counterspells that shut down opponent's abilities.

Yeah, make our tastebuds think healthy/energy efficient food tastes like bacon or otherwise delicious but unhealthy foods. That'd be way more effective than making beef cause nausea.

Eh, I have an easier time hitting modifier keys and tab when I'm over on WASD, but I could see ESDF being better if you're more dextrous, for sure.

Or how about PC gamers, who almost all use the left side of the keyboard because they're using their right hand for the mouse? WASD is the default keybind for movement in a ton of different and very popular game genres.

It's an example of epigenetics (basically cases where offspring inherit specific ways to express their DNA from changes that occur in their parents), just taken to an extreme where an entire chromosome is disabled.

"Biomimetically" designed: eh. Most minimalist/barefoot running people just want a flat, flexible sole with minimal support/cushioning.

I think the spelling is "en masse".

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing. We could make a perfect super-soldier physically, or go with making us more efficient for modern life.

Eh, but evolution trims things away, too. It's edited down our strength and senses because we didn't absolutely need them for survival in the gene pool thanks to technology, not because they were no longer useful. I mean, our athletes don't get dumber inherently because they move faster or have more efficient muscles,

I was thinking the same thing, so the obvious unspoken option is to get a bigger brain. I mean, you're already probably increasing chest size with extra lung sacs, so you could just up the entire body size with a proportionally bigger skull cavity and more brain matter to handle the heightened senses.

Triceratops, which has faces potential reclassification as the adolescent version of a different species of dinosaur, the Torosaurus, instead of being a separate species.

Yeah, I remember reading crappy comments, but I don't note the source of crap comments in most cases, as replying would just promote their crap.
