Eh, even Star Trek's Enterprise (er...well ST:TNG, not watched much of the original) had bigger phasers when they needed more firepower.

Where's that quote? Increased regulations are 5th on the first list, not second and third, and the second article doesn't list taxes or regulations.

Sooo...one company versus a survey of multiple businesses? Okay..

Throwing money at a money problem, like say, the deficit or national debt, would help things. It may not solve everything, but I'm not saying that's all we try to do to fix the issue. I agree that it's not a be-all-end-all solution.

Eh, I'm employed and a stockholder and pay federal and state taxes. You make it sound like no millionaires exist, though I probably overstated my counter point, eh?

Yup, we definitely see millionaires stop working, stop investing their money, and stop earning to stay under that tax threshold. Billionaires just don't exist anymore, because it's so amazingly unattractive.

Yeah man, buying politicians and hiring lobbyists is expensive. Cut those poor, oppressed millionaires and billionaires some slack!

Thanks, that clears it up quite a bit. Primer's whole "time travel only exists as early as the first time machine does" threw me off.

I'm not sure on the actual time setting of the movie. Are there two of them in the 70s (Levitt goes to the future to finish himself off after completing his assignment) or the 40s (Willis came back with others Levitt is supposed to kill...which doesn't make sense to me story wise unless Willis is forced to go back to

I had the same issue last night, I'll have to try your fix. Thanks!

Peter's competence with shapeshifters makes sense. He was hunting down the shapeshifters and doing independent research on their data disks, so he'd have more info that others assuming they weren't able to hunt down the shapeshifters as effectively or just didn't do it.

Yeah...pretty much the only negative about his research was that it was maybe killing people during trials (the "ethical concerns" I'd guess), and that it helps shape shifters.

Hey, I just finished McDougall's book yesterday; funny how that works out. The running style looks pretty similar to the POSE method of running I've been trying to adopt. It's interesting (and reassuring) to see how all the barefoot techniques tend to lead to the same principles.

To be fair, if you gave cheetahs super-cushioned running shoes, it would probably screw the crap out of their form too.

Yeah, minimalist shoes and barefoot running give you more pain feedback, which helps you learn the new, low-impact form much faster.

"Free can mean" "unbounded" or "unhindered", acting as a bit of a deceptive synonym to the "unlimited" bits. And you do get "free=unlimited" fast shipping for those $80, with the cost decreasing a lot when averaged over lots of purchases.

I'm pretty sure that the author of Bakuman had the exact same idea (or stole it..)...one of his fictional manga authors is writing a "zombie boy falls in love with a living girl and protects her from other zombies" manga.

Yeah...didn't catch that. Maybe it's only the formerly European South Africans...

Gaaaaargh, why didn't they give us those high density options for the new Google Reader, too?
