No, for now. I'd like to use it, but until I can easily send calls and text messages via Google Voice directly from my phone, it's impractical. I would love to see a new Android phone that lets me use a GV number directly, without the need for synchronizing.

@jw: Yyyyyep.

@tselby: It'll keep me from blogging when the cheaper option is blogging-plus-infinite-other-options.

I didn't realize SquareSpace was a paid service. I liked what I heard about it in the Call for Contenders post, but $8/month? I can get a hosted server for about $7.50/month, and all the advantages that come with a server, and run WordPress for free. Seems like SquareSpace would have to be really special to justify

It's Joe Lieberman. This is the guy who wanted to strip suspected terrorists of their citizenship rights. He's just getting attention; nothing will come of it. Keep Calm and Carry On.

@SolidSquid: I have the same problem. Several of my contacts use LJ, but with protected posts, so I can't see them (or even know they exist) unless I actually visit the site and login. It may sound lazy, but these days, if you can't get your content out to a feed reader, your readership will suffer. LJ needs to

@Phoshi: It's the sort of thing I used to do as a fun project, to keep my PHP/SQL skills up to snuff. But when my focus shifted to the actual content side of things, I concluded that it wasn't worth my time and energy to reinvent the wheel.

@pobox90210: There is. Wordpress has an absolutely beautiful import tool specifically for Blogger. Basically, one click and all your posts and comments will be copied to the WP. I used it with mine and was highly impressed.

@Mike Cerm: Heh, yeah. Even though we know WP will win, though, I'm still interested to see what the runner-ups are.

VOTE: WordPress

iTunes has a deceptively powerful feature set. Among others, it can convert between several different file types, and its sorting and smart playlist implementation is very strong. I'm a total Google fanboy these days, so I'm eager to see what they've got. But it would take a lot to drag me away from iTunes.

@jsmorley: We found the monolith in orbit. The rest is classified.

Congratulations, guys. :) I'll stop by the forum when I finally get a chance. And of course, I'll be giving 1.2 a spin.

I'm looking forward to Chrome OS, and I think it'll have a lot of great uses, but I really don't want to start seeing feature lists telling how Chrome "supports" CS5 or Office. It's not support if it requires a completely different operating system running on a completely different machine.

@CarbonatedFalcon: I know a lot of Mac users who genuinely love Safari and prefer it to their respective Firefox and Chrome ports. I'm not complaining about Safari on Windows, per se. I'm just astonished that Jobs, or anyone at Apple, thinks that it can seriously compete with the big boys in its current condition.

@dragonfire312: Well, to each his own, of course. As I say, I can only relay my own experience. I find it sluggish, stunted by Apple's insistence on using its own UI and APIs, burdened by unnecessary eye candy like the zoom effect in Top Sites, and lacking in a wide range of options. I suppose it would service a

I can only speak for myself, and I've never used Safari in its native habitat. But Safari on Windows continues to be an absolutely worthless application, and a remarkably half-hearted one for an Apple product. It is simply not a credible alternative to Firefox, Chrome, or even IE. I'll give Safari 5 a fair chance, but

I use both, as well, but if I had to pick one, it'd be a thumb drive. USB ports are still more ubiquitous than Internet connections. Moreover, unless I'm touring a magnet factory, I don't trust Dropbox's server quite as much as the eight gigs hanging from my keychain.
