I mean, sure, it’s greedy. But what’s the argument against it, really? “Millions of customers are willing to pay real money for something they know is completely worthless. But you should refuse to sell it to them. Because it’s… bad for humanity?

This is some high-octane “shut up and take my money” material.

Guilty.

Not just you! I’m playing on a PC, and “R” shifts the camera from shoulder to shoulder. I’m a few hours into the game and still doing this half a dozen times every firefight.

I am enjoying the bejesus out of this game, and the combat is a big reason why. Never too repetitive, flows really nicely from tactic to tactic, and makes you feel awesome on a regular basis. I’ve been impressed by how seamlessly new abilities are incorporated into the gameplay and become second nature in a very short

Here’s what I did: I spent about five bucks in the marketplace to get all the cosmetics I actually like, and then every week I spend in-game BP on one or two crates and sell back whatever I get. I figure I’ll break even in a few months.

But I do enjoy not seeing enemies for minutes at a time, and spending most of my time in a shooter walking across empty areas. PUBG has a kind of condensed exploration/journey experience, combined with visceral, grounded gun combat, that I don’t get from any other game. I love to let myself sink into the flow and

The Starfighter Inc. Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded and appears to be on track for a 2018 release. For obvious reasons they can’t use the Star Wars setting, but I’m hopeful that the final product will support some kind of modding or skinning so that the community can take it across the finish line.

Enter The Matrix. Especially with the DOS-y command line cheat codes, it was a lot of stupid fun.

This is the opposite of an original observation, but holy shit are video game fans entitled.

I disagree, honestly. I think if the developers had had the ability to make the game look like this in 2006, they would have without hesitation. I don’t look at these before-and-after screenshots and see something more cohesive or impressionistic, I just see something more blurry and struggling against its

Any recommendations for someone who adored Gundam Wing as a kid, but can’t quite stomach the bad writing & production now that I’m twenty years older and live in the age of Mad Men and Game of Thrones?

Love it. I’ve also discovered at least one substantial easter egg. Keep a sharp eye out when you’re flying over the mountains.

Well, based on a quick count, of the last 100 published stories, 6 were about Overwatch. So if it’s not your cup of tea, I have 94 recommendations for you. :)

If you’re not interested in Overwatch, doesn’t that just make it easier for you to avoid reading posts about it?

I didn’t read it as spin. I think the idea is to say “hey, this is a good thing, so let’s highlight it and thereby celebrate and encourage this kind of behavior instead of the bad kind.” It’s not to excuse the toxicity, but to combat and maybe reduce it. A toxic community isn’t an immutable fact; cultures can change.

Exactly. Even when experienced storytellers innovate or subvert common conventions, it’s usually by experimenting thoughtfully with one or two key elements, rather than throwing out the whole playbook. Stories are ancient and there are reasons why they work.

My sentiments exactly. I’ve been using Evernote experimentally for a few months, but really not for anything that Simplenote can’t (apparently) do. Looking forward to this plunge.

My whole life runs on Workflowy. But I’m going to give this a try, too. My Flowy is so structured and organized that I have a place for everything that goes into it—which means I need to stop and think before I type. Papier seems like it could be handy for when I want to just Write Something Down and not slow myself

There’s a similar extension called Simple Window Saver that I use religiously. Like this, you can name a window, and then it gets auto-saved under that name. You can simply close the window at any time, and then reopen it later from a list, just as you left it. If you add or remove tabs while you’re using the window,
