I'd love it if Google offers a Wubi-esque installer for it. It would be nice to give it a try without repartitioning my hard drive and so on.

I like it. But in practice, I suppose I'd rather use Fast Dial, which does exactly the same thing and isn't limited to Google services, or something like Homepage Startup for a cloud-based application of the same idea.
@MattyMattMatt: Isn't that Chrome?
Even assuming you don't uninstall one.
I know that a lot of people, particularly the younger generation, can be irresponsible about protecting their digital lives. But can you blame them, after seeing a graph like that? I don't know if Facebook is trying to make it as hard as possible for the user to understand their privacy options, much less control…
@tonyx3: "Note that the screenshots above do not portray this feature because Unity is not quite finished yet (more on this later), but it is planned for the final release."
@despisethesun: "Kino" is the German word for a movie theater, so it's not surprising that it might have inspired more than one application in the world.
I live in a house with digital cable, but I haven't watched it in years. I don't want to. Commercials interrupting my shows every ten minutes, blaring at twice the volume level of the actual program? Can't pause or restart? No, thank you. Almost everything I watch posts its content online, legally, for free. All the…
@GlennA: Heh, I'll take that.
Am I the only one who thinks these are completely useless? These are training wheels. They might help the uninitiated understand some of the different ways Wave can be applied, but as an experienced user, I can't imagine that it's not simpler and faster just to start from scratch. I don't expect to see a bunch of…
I just can't figure out how I would use this without multitasking. I like to have music or a movie playing while I work, and more importantly, I want to be available on Skype and AIM. I can't do any of those things with an iPad unless I keep my laptop nearby - and if that's the case, I might as well just do whatever…
@jcphil: My sentiments exactly. If it had a full-blown desktop version of OS X, I could even deal with the lack of keyboard. But a big iPhone does not have a place in my digital armory.
I'm always wary of promoting something like a torrent site in a public venue. Just because the more public attention they get = the more law enforcement attention they get.
@pixelsnader: Oh, I know. I saw that Lenovo Slate thing, it's damn intriguing. I only meant that there hasn't been a really successful dual-mode laptop yet, and I don't see it happening for at least another year or two. But I would be delighted if they proved me wrong.
@irish_stickman: I guess you'll have to stick with photography for a while. Good luck, friend.
@Dan Robinson: Adam's not only commenting on his own desires, of course; he's promoting his way of thinking and encouraging others to adopt it. And to the extent that the iPad is trying to proliferate Apple's authoritarian policies in the personal computing domain, I couldn't agree more.
@ridilla: Fortunately, this isn't a journalistic endeavor.
@pixelsnader: I understand that it's being presented that way. That's sort of my criticism. ;) The iPad, to me, is feeling a lot like the Palm Pilot of the 21st century. It's jack of all trades, and certainly not useless in that capacity, but there's nothing it does well - or at least as well as either the smartphone…
@Jason Fitzpatrick: "The iPad isn't really a computer, it's a piece of consumer electronics like the iPod. You're not free to do what you want with it. I can't put Linux on it. Hell I can't even plug a standard USB device into it."
@ssj4Gogeta: Maybe they plan to take advantage of YouTube's HTML5 option.
