“You tell me” is pretty much the closest thing to /s in the spoken word.

You both agree. Yes challenging the system often led to violent backlash from the government. But, as the LGBT and Women’s movements went more mainstream they also became incredibly whitewashed. The latest protests in these movements have taken on a cutesy, commodified air (this is great because it signifies the level

I could be unfairly giving Ellen Pompeo the benefit of the doubt here, but it seems to me that she specifically posted this to call out the racism and hypocrisy of having excess police presence/militarization at a protest about black people dying due to racism and excessive police force. This seems like an

At a time when we are witnessing our police become brazenly lawless against peaceful protesters, we should absolutely be screaming about all of these very alarming things that they are doing. Plus, I’m pretty sure Ellen Pompeo has previously spoken about racial justice, but go ahead with your snark, I guess.

Either the author isn’t fluent in Sarcasm, or they have some kind of other issue with Pompeo.

It’s definitely rhetorical, I’m in the middle of a self-hating Grey’s Anatomy binge rewatch and that’s classic Shonda Rhimes phrasing, she’s clearly been reading lines that way for so long that it’s become her own natural speech pattern.

..... Ellen, I really hope that’s a rhetorical question because the answer is extremely obvious.

I feel like it was pretty clear that Ellen’s question was rhetorical...

Leslie Redmond, the head of the Minneapolis NAACP, was on MPR this weekend and two things she said that have stuck with me:

No but I know what I'm doing tomorrow now!

Have you ever had slightly frozen Topo? It is the most fucking refreshing thing in the world.

Cancel it because seltzer is for us teetotalers. Y'all drinkers have like 10000 other drink . Seriously, us sober folks bond over our favorite seltzers (Topo Chico I love you!)

I’m not a fan of Bernie or Biden, but in this case Biden’s comment was much more insulting, in that he effectively managed to avoid answering the queston, by providing a cute little soundbite. IMO
That said, Bernie’s answer wasn’t great either.

If you’re going to shrug it away like that, couldn’t you just as easily say that those thousands and thousands of other runners should just get better or deal with the fact that Semenya’s outstanding in the women’s 800, because life’s unfair?

So to you, it’s fairer to have Semenya take medication to slow herself down so that the women who are not as good as her can benefit, or to have her run in what would be a third category made up of—how many people?

an unfair advantage in that area which makes this person not even really fit the biological definition of female

I, for one, appreciate your concern for the athlete who would otherwise come in 3,000th place being forced into 3,001st because of this “unfair advantage.”

By not allowing Semenya to compete as a woman, what is the IAAF protecting women’s running from? What is that much stronger case?

Caster is a hermaphrodite. This is not discriminatory to say. It is factual.”

At this point if black women said “fuck all of yall” and boarded a spaceship and peaced out Id wish them nothing but the best, we dont deserve their presence on this planet
