I’m against the whole patina thing anyway, even on older cars. I’d much rather see a nice shiny paint job on a classic car than rust and faded paint. But doing it on new cars is just going too far. The whole idea behind “patina” is that every dent, every spot of rust, every scratch tells a story of that car’s life

Just thought I’d share a Dec. 1949 Popular Mechanics article about not only the Timbs car, but other unique sports cars of the time. Enjoy!

If anyone actually watched the podcast, you will see that Elon took only one hit, and that was only after Rogan said it was a pot/tobacco mixture, and he seemed to want to see what it tasted like. He also appeared to take the hit like one would take a draw on a cigar. Letting it in his mouth only for the taste. He

How about we designate a van as a utility vehicle configured and sold in either passenger or cargo configurations. Passenger versions have nice interiors in the back, seats in the rear, nice headliners and interior side trim/padding/whatever and HVAC systems to heat/cool the rear. The cargo versions will have little

The whole state of CT is about the size of the DFW Metroplex.

Just for a sense of scale...

Looks great, but what if you need to carry more than one person?

Rounding off the lot is a 1953 Buick Skylark Convertible. This car has the most perfect diner interior that I have ever seen. I’m half-expecting someone to pump some change into a jukebox and crank up some Tony Bennett.

Texas alone is half as big as Europe.

It’s a good thing we’re using metric for engine displacement now. Otherwise the article would be about the “new, powerful 256 cid V8 Cadillac engine”.  Doesn’t sound so impressive now, does it?

It’s a 1961 Plymouth Fury. Just as bizarre on the outside as it is on the inside. I love it!

I like mine flat on the top as well as the bottom...just like my women. Wait, what?

I really wish you people would actually read the comment instead of just zeroing in on a couple of words. Who said anything about Kevlar being bulletproof? How do you think you would do in a fight with a fairly large guy wearing fully padded gear and a full face helmet? I know that when I’m wearing my JR Ballistic

Who said anything about being bullet resistant? I was talking about a physical altercation between the biker and the cop. My riding gear is Kevlar lined and padded, including my gloves, and I think it would give me the upper hand in a fight.

Just be glad it wasn’t a nest of these buggers from the UK. They probably could have carried off that El Camino.

True about the 14mpg around town. A big part of the reason is that they had 2.73 gears in the rear end. Great for highway cruising (only around 1750 rpm @ 70mph), but bad for stop and go traffic. My driving is about 90% highway, 10% city, and I’ve averaged around 20mpg overall. If you do lots of mainly city driving,
