So that someone like me can scoop up a $38,000 fully loaded low miles Ecoboost for less than half sticker in 3 years.

Email: FREE DOUGHNUTS IN BREA....

I was going to suggest a Lexus. I like the older body style better though, this one is in the neighborhood and well within the budget.  Rear-facing car seats should also fit if necessary.

THIS. It ticks all the boxes.

He does seem to imply that he’d drive an SUV despite not needing one, just to feel more accepted. He clearly doesn’t want a truck, and he doesn’t want 3 rows of seats.

I hate to say it but I would have pulled a “Crazy Tracy” and recommended one of these...

He doesn’t need an SUV per se, but the Acadia does work for his overall needs.

The right answer is unquestionably a used Lexus LS or GS. A few year old GS 350 AWD F Sport is pretty nice looking.

Is it unique and cool in some way? Sure. Is it remotely reasonable to consider as a reliable, relatively affordable year-round daily driver? Not a chance.

If he just wants a cool hobby car to start conversation and drive to the airport once in a while, great, but that’s not at all what he asked for.

I mean, couldn’t *one* of you have given him a reasonable answer?  The only non-troll answer is the Acadia, and he literally said he had no use for an SUV.  I get that there’s a comedy element, but I thought there were supposed to be a few helpful suggestions?

A quick look at the MPGe of current EVs will quickly show that on average the XL1 is 2.5 times as efficient as an electric car and does not have range, charge time, or battery range degradation issues.

Nonsense. I know plenty of people in the States who would’ve been all over this thing. The biggest hurdle would’ve been the cost - which is the case for most desirable cars anyway.

The pre-owned Fiat 500 Abarth: It’s like a roadside fried chicken place in Macon, Georgia. The sign says “chiken” crudely painted on a wood plank.

Meh, that’s a stock Wrangler. By the time it has a couple thousand dollars of modifications such as Angry Eyes, Military Grade LEDs, wheels with Ben Hur spinners, Bikini Tops, etc. it will be just as good as sitting in a parking lot outside of a mall as any of the others.

I think R8s from those years are aging better than any other supercar of the era. Matt Farah actually tweeted about this exact thing today. The R8 is timeless.

They are also under warranty.

I sold my manual Passat back 3 years ago for over $19k (over $6k more than I paid for it 2 years before that) used the money to pay off all debt outside of house and school and you’re telling me I can essentially go back and get my car back with a new warranty for cheap again?!?  This is like Christmas!!!  Thanks VW

Turns out the repair really isn’t that bad. It didnt ruin performance or fuel economy so its fairly well accepted

I’m still curious if the ecological spend on the repairs AND the loss of ~5mpg per car is actually adding up to a net reduction in emissions. We are religious about recording mileage (fuelly.com is great) and saw our average fill up go from ~45mpg to ~40mpg. Best ever was 50mpg pre fix (with many many 47+ if we were

Thats a lot of vehicle for the price of a mildly luxurious F150.
